Try pressing "T" for single-fire and aiming with iron sights or scope, instead of full auto spraying bullets everywhere except into your target.

 

1 in the head or a few in the chest should drop anybody that isn't decked out in ballistic gear, nobodys taking 17 hits and surviving.

It was pretty much 7 feet in front of me. 
and when I went to swap to my backup, my guy swapped to it and put it away.

Guns, like zombies and nearly everything else (including melee weapons) in this EARLY ALPHA game, are place holders, so accuracy is not garanteed. That includes players. But not axes.

lelelelelelelelelelelelelelelelel i personally play with the kid, saw him kill a guy from round 400-500 meters with mosin irons, i would say thats good enough to aim an m4 from close range. Meaning you missed all 17 shots. It only takes 3 shots(max 4 to kill). Either you panicked and sprayed or your aim is terrible. Either way my point still stand. You suck.
