I love this game and I don't like to use the word "veteran" but I've played ever since the early stages of the mod and been with the game ever since.

 

One thing I hate is people going on about the glaring flaws and bugs, the lack of content and the loss of optimisation because a lot of people still don't understand the game is an alpha and although this word seems like some sort of buzz-word to most, those people just don't understand the concept of an alpha. We are in the "everything needs to be now" generation sadly.

 

Now, saying this. I am however getting annoyed by the lack of communication. Rocket, hicks, whoever else: Christmas and New Year is over, things are back to normal for most people and yet I see a distinct lack of communication. We need to see regular updates on the forum, the devblog and your twitter statuses. We need to be talked to, we need to be informed more about impending updates and what they may entail because I find myself constantly looking for new information elsewhere and I see none.

 

Come on guys. Communicate with your game-base please.

Don't worry, like you've said the holidays are over, however according to my FB, Dean has just left wellington so maybe he is coming back to work, matt is looking at airsoft :P

 

So things will pick up again soon!

Wrong. Reddit has no new information, rocket's latest tweets go on about him being able to make new games with all his new money and that link shows the latest thread with a rolling update that was the 6th of January.

 

It's now the 12 of January bub, and this is not good enough. If they're not releasing regular updates, the least they can do is release regular information.

I didn't come here for an argument and yet I get you, the crazy rabid fanboy who can't even comprehend English properly. Oh and as a bonus, you use gifs to illustrate your fanboyism to it's maximum potential because you're unable to respond with dignity. Cave men have more subtlety and tact than you.

Seriously, it hasn't even been a week, they're still working on the updates they mentioned in the last report. Maybe once they finish these, we might get an update on what the next ones will be...or do you want a personal hotline to demand what's going on?

I laughed at the .gif. The gif shows some community behavior, too. And KoS can be funny. I mean the member. Man, it's funny.

 

Okay, anyway.

 

It's been about a week since the last update. Do you expect DAILY updates, or all 2? What would they post about? Well, they COULD say "Now we're trying this or that!" but it could be stupid if they have to change that all the time. Might as well post when stuff is done, or done as intended.

 

And a week is not that long, really. Say, it was a month ... well shit, then we could talk.

I'm not making demands, you don't think it's a little weird that we're not even being talked to on the forums at least? Most alphas for different games have better communication and more updates.

Actually OP, YOU are what's wrong with 'most gaming communities as a whole'. I'd rather the devs spend 15 more minutes working on the game than 15 more minutes writing a post saying 'Still working on the checklist we posted a couple weeks ago'.

15 minutes? You do realise, in my experience at least; Most games in their alpha stages usually get their updates daily, or every two days AND their developers talk to their community and interact?

 

There is zero interaction except for telling us (on the day I might add) that an update is being rolled. That is all. Oh and the blog update once a month.

 

This thread has failed, I never anticipated the clear amount of fanboys who only enjoy a slither of cake rather than the cake as a whole. Actually, thinking back, the official forum was probably the worst place to post this, there is nothing but hivemind attacks towards me because I'm trying to make a point that would benefit everybody yet only the fanboys see it as a personal attack against their precious Rocket.

 

Sad. Oh well, die please thread. Enjoy your slow (so slow it might as well not be moving) development guys! Peace x.

While your concern is understandable via principle, you also have to understand that some of these reactions are not exactly "random". You see various other things on this forum, so one could be a bit cynical and assume certain things. Justified or not.

 

If you want to call that or some of that "fanboyism", that's your call. It's not like people have to jump in front of the game to take a bullet for it.

 

Most games is not "this one game", on the other hand. In the end, if you're unhappy with development time (and or communication of said time) then you gotta deal with it. It might be annoying to you, but you can't change it. It takes time to finish certain tasks. The other implication would be "The devs are lazy", but in both cases you can't really help it in the end.
