Was this guy cheating?

I ran up the stairs and saw this guy standing in front of 3 of his corpses hitting them with an axe. A few seconds later his living character disappeared, and reappeared behind me and started shooting me. Was this guy hacking?

No and yes,

 

He is simply using an exploit to duplicate his body.

 

It can be done by accident, but three times seems to me as intentional.

its a buguser, he "copy" his char again and again so if he dies he has a secret place to regear up in minutes...

 

or just dublicade his ammo food etc... its a known bug.

 

and no i dont say how its work...

No.. he wasnt, ghosting... few easy steps, its exploiting not hacking.

1. Disconnect server 1

2. Join server 2

3. Move another location

4. Disconnect server 2

5. Join back to server 1

If it really happened in few seconds could have been

 

glitching or lagging.

He disappeared and reappered behind me within 8 or 9 seconds. Not fast enough to switch servers. Although it is also entirely possible he just ran behind me really quickly and I didn't notice. I was trying to get my axe out and the stupid hotkey wouldn't work and I was really nervous.

There's a teleport hack I've witnessed in a youtube vid. It apparently moved the hacker about 10 yards in the direction he faced. another reason community should be happy with vulnerability fixes and ease off the demands for content so soon.

This is, sadly, a really really simple glitch to duplicate your character, and it can be done in no longer than 10 seconds. It's none of the "tutorials" posted above, it's even simpler. Of course I won't explain anything, I tried it once to see if the "rumors" are true (Yes, insult me now if you like to), and I couldn't believe how easy it was to destroy the whole purpose of the game in not even 10 seconds. I hope it gets fixed ASAP!

No, honestly, trying exploits is part of the alpha in my eyes, just report them in the bugtracker afterwards. I think you can mark reports private so not everybody can see them.

Agreed, if you hear of an exploit and you don't know of anyone who's already reported it, duplicate it if you can, take proof and submit it. That's why we paid to be here, to make sure that this game is what we want and need.
