The North - Work in progress?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys - a question for the devs really: I have been on a sight-seeing tour of the North, and the place looks pretty amazing - I particularly love the detail around the railway stations - Cherno plus is pretty beautiful. However, places like Guba and the areas surrounding seem half finished - lots of roads and concrete slabs laid out suggesting building sites. So is this the case? Any hints on what might be happening in the North of the map?

Also, if you enjoyed your sightseeing trip, why not share some screenshots of your favorite places up there?

Sorry for the oversize! Haven't got around to resizing them yet.

These are all screenshots from the Northern areas of Chernarus. They were kindly vibrant-ied by a good friend of mine, Hwaet.

If you want to check out more of my screenshots, please check out my Steam profile!

With my second character, I ran North for what felt like forever, ending up at the edge of developed landscape.  Everything just becomes a wide grass plain with no buildings or trees.

That's the deadlands you've ran into. The 'Dev Zone' is the unfinished part of the North.

That was the end of the world. If you had kept going you would have fallen off proving that the world, in fact, is flat.

I've been up there, and I really like the train station, complete with actual trains! Can't wait to see what they fill the street grid with up there.

Northwest you get this kind of thing:

I remember popping up there on the first day of the standalone, 'cause it looked as if there was a hidden complex on the map. But it's just foundations for the moment.

There's also a train yard in the north-west, in fact the train line goes in a big loop east to Guba. Guba itself is going to be a sniper's paradise, because you can hide up in the rocks and kill people exploring the train station there. The only problem is that if you get too close to the rocks you'll probably die. Guba was of course the baddie from Operation Flashpoint.
