night time servers have day light

hi guys, when ever join most night time only servers, i join and its bright as day is there something wrong with my setting or is this just a glitch, the one server i did join which was night my flash light would not work for love nor money, i have batteries and i just cant seem to get the damn thing to turn on i click f and mouse wheel and it never works. any help would be great thanks

You are either joining a daytime server, or you have your gamma and brightness all of the way up.  With the flashlight, did you make sure the batteries were IN the flashlight :)  If so, press space (default) to raise your flashlight.  If that doesnt work it could be a connection issue.

no my gamma settings are fine every nighttime server is day time it makes no sense, there must be a away i can fix this

As far as I know time on a server can be controlled by restarting it (this is allowed), I guess a config file can define at which part of the day a server restarts. To keep a server at night the config would need to be set to early night and the server needs to be restarted before morning. (at least every 10-8 hours or so, most servers restart more often anyway). There is no specific server setting for "night only".

If the server doesn't restart regularly and you are in the "wrong" timezone (opposed to the admin of the server), the complete cycle will run through.

 

However nothing keeps a server admin from naming his server "Nighttime Server" to scare people afraid of the dark off and then keep it at daytime. I don't think any rule prohibits this.

The server owner sets a default time for server and its up to him to restart the server regularly so it does not switch to day/night

I also get this problem, sometimes when I join a night time server for a brief second or two it looks like i'm joining a Day server but then all of a sudden everything goes pitch black to night time. This window of day time can sometimes become static and not revert to the proper night-time setting.

 

Seems to me it could be a glitch with lighting or just the loading of night time setting either in the game or via bad server connection so try joining some other servers or re-install the game :)

Check the battery make sure it has a charge.
