What are you guys going to do once the writing thing is implemented?

Sign kills? Make bad jokes like "Ass who reads"?

I am likely going to leave notes where I drop loot in excess and maybe leaving written tips along the coast.

Or, or, do a find the treasure thing. Put down clues on paper that lead to like a gun, ammos, a lot of food or meds.

I think it should be re added. If people want to be racist and portray slander, they will find the means to do so.

Allowing racism to go on in your video games is NOT a smart move.

Is there an official comment on this removal? I've only found people on the forums claim it was because of racist notes, but wasn't able to find something from a dev.

Well if the game has "suicide" and "murder" as part of it then I don't see why we can't have the writing mechanic back in.

 

Anyone leaving racist messages could be traced I'm sure through admin logs and banned.... Could even do a witch hunt and kill him on the server haha

What if your character had to be alive in game for exemple 10 hours+ or something before you could start using Pen and Paper? If you die you would had to start surviving all over.

 

 That would eliminate 90% of potential racis etc. people who would write on it.

That's actually a very good idea.

 

It's kind of like how on some forums you cant make a thread for a few days or so many posts after creating your account. It'll make people earn their right to leave letters.

I highly highly doubt it was removed because 'people were writing racist messages'.  

Rocket wants a game where people play how they want.  I mean if it's ok to handcuff someone, strip them down, then shoot them in the head. Then why would rude/racist messages matter?  The world we live in today.  Political correctness gone mad, worse to play a racist than it is a murderer.

 

So yes, would HOPE it's not due to this reason or I'd be quite dissapointed.

There isn't much point to writing as of right now, pretty much because a server would restart in a few hours, maybe when someone can survive without hopping or restarting it would get some non-troll use.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't intentionally "removed" for racism. Might as well remove voip and direct chat, because you can be racist in those too. People saying this are just spreading rumors. Notes are bugged, I'm sure they'll fix it eventually.
