aLucard® 7 Posted January 10, 2014 As title says i have a "decent" pc,serving me well with all the games, but not dayz. Ive got over 200 mods on Skyrim and i still run it better then Dayz... Ive updated my drivers etc nothing helps. Heres my specs : Phenom II 965 @ 3.4Ghz 8Gb Corsair RAM DDR3 1600Mhz Sapphire 7770 1Gb DDR5 Ghz Edition With this i can squeeze out around 30FPS on dayz, sometimes it climbs up on 50 when i look at the sky. Changing everything from LOW to HIGH presets does NOTHING at all....
Mos1ey 6301 Posted January 10, 2014 You can't compare performance in Skyrim to performance in DayZ... It just doesn't work like that. Your performance sounds about right for those specs TBH, unfortunately DayZ is quite intensive and not well optimised at this point. I can give you a few tweaks that might help though... First make sure antialiasing, shadows, ambient occlusion and post-process are disabled in DayZ. Object detail should be set to "very low". Next head to your Documents folder and open the DayZ folder. Find DayZ.cfg and open it with WordPad (or your prefered text editor) and modify the following lines... GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1;GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1;

aLucard® 7 Posted January 10, 2014 Ive tryed with ur setting atom and mos,it was helpful i got around 10 FPS,but thats about it btw about scene complexity settings on my profile its set to 200000 so i didnt change it
Mos1ey 6301 Posted January 10, 2014 Yeah, some things like render distance and scene complexity will automatically be set depending on your system. You can try dropping your render distance a bit if you feel like you want a few more FPS, personally I wouldn't drop below 1500 but I think you could probably stretch to as low as 1000 without being at too much of a disadvantage if you feel you needed it. Look for viewDistance= in the >yourname<.DayZprofile file in Documents > DayZ to change that. Honestly, if you're at around 40 FPS now that shouldn't be too bad though. I drop to the 40s in cities and it doesn't bother me.
