Guest Posted January 10, 2014 Hello. This is a stupid problem, and I've only seen only stupid answers to it so far, like "Have you tried raising your ping limit, blah blah blah." Thing is, DayZ knows your location, somehow, and limits you to EU or US or something. My internet speed is good enough to have playable pings on the US - East coast, and I have a friend in the US who has a good enough ping on Western Europe. Therefore, why the fuck are we even restricted to our areas when we wanna play together? Is there a workaround? This is really pissing me off. The game's in Alpha, okay, but that's not a reason to put BS restictions in it. Would changing the location on steam change anything? Thanks for your answers, and devs, fix this. gray-z@hotmail.co.uk 84 Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) I'm in the UK and have no issues seeing all the other servers. I know you have been told to raise your ping but have you tried setting the ping value in filter settings to '0'. This takes ping out of the equation and should show all servers as long as there are no other filters in. Beyond that I'm unsure as to what the issue could be. Mopp_94 29 Posted January 10, 2014 Ive played with a friend of a friend that lives in midland US. I live in the West Midlands UK. There is no restriction, if you having this much trouble, just find the IP of the server and join direct and dont reply on the server browser. My only advice

Guest Posted January 10, 2014 Ok, what the hell... I see some russian servers with shitty pings, but I can't see US servers when I had good pings on them in the mod? Okaaaaay...... I just don't know... my US friend has the same problem, we did all of this already :/
Element47 2481 Posted January 10, 2014 maybe theere has been a sudden drop in the US-French relations? ;) some servers may take quite some time to appear in the server browser.. other than that, try connecting via IP..
Guest Posted January 10, 2014 Heh didn't even think about using the IP for some reason, better than nothing, gonna try that, thanks.
Greaves 131 Posted January 10, 2014 Locate your friend in your Steam friends list, right click on him, and select ''Join game''. Bam, you're in his server.
res 373 Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) Locate your friend in your Steam friends list, right click on him, and select ''Join game''. Bam, you're in his server. Yeah, this works. You won't find them (the servers) if they're not in your region, but you can join them this way. Edited January 10, 2014 by skin_head_army
Atomizer 53 Posted January 11, 2014 Yeah, this works. You won't find them (the servers) if they're not in your region, but you can join them this way.Doesn't work that way, there is no region locking, at all.
wgaf 251 Posted January 11, 2014 I'm a US user and have no problem finding EU servers. I play with people in the EU and they have no problem finding US servers. This is an issue of setting your max ping high enough, or of being patient for the list to fully populate.
