[Help needed] How to install DayZ Server

Have followed the guide but seems very outdated or missing things.

We used steam to download ARMA 2 and ARMA OA but as we can't actually run the game we don't get any of the files which get created on startup.

Just wondering where everyone get's there fresh copy of the game ?

The game won't launch on a server but it will create the necessary registry files. However, I found with the steam version, it's best to create a new folder and copy both the contents of your arma 2 and arma 2 oa folders into that one folder. That way it'll see all the assets and you have the steam folders untouched in case you need to update.

Just make sure to copy the beta folder over on each beta update. :)

Just install the game from steam then download the dedicated server from the Tools tab

Ok I have managed to get the server up and running but now it is saying "This server is running an incorrect version of the server side application" booo so close to having the server running.

Also the @Hive is fully updated unless you need to get one from somewhere else now - I am using 0.4.1
