wartzilla 182 Posted January 9, 2014 Turning on a weapon flashlight should not be an action that requires you to open the inventory, find the light, right-click on it for a drop down menu, and then click 'turn on'. It should be a mappable key/mouse button, and it should be possible to set as a toggle or momentary switch. In reality, the light is operated by the thumb very easily and very fast, allowing for momentary bursts of light. This is the only purpose of a weapon light. The way it is currently implemented, you have the option to turn yourself into a beacon for other people to fire at, and not much else. The bipod should similarly be able to have a key mapped to deploy it. That, or make it deploy by itself when you go prone, since that's the only time it is useful. DayZ is not Microsoft Excel.
gray-z@hotmail.co.uk 84 Posted January 9, 2014 I've had the same thoughts. Why can't you just press 'L' as you could in arma 2. Now if you go into the 'Infantry Weapons' drop down in the control assignments section of the configuration menu it has one called 'Headlights on/off' yet last time I checked you don't have headlights on an infantry weapon, you do however find flash lights. Now this is still in development so maybe they haven't got around to it yet but I'm sure that this will eventually be changed so that it functions your weapon light and there will be an option available to bind your Bipod. As always, we just have to wait. I'm happier to let them get on with the bigger issues for now ;)

Not much point in having one if every suggestion is going to be 'don't do any changes to the game, just optimize and fix bugs'.
