Miles or Kilometers?

Are the signs in the game with distance to each town in miles, or in kilometers?

 

Here it says: "Stary Sobor is located 2 miles west of Novy Sobor"

 

But am thinking this is a mistake since the game takes place in Europe and they use the metric system there?

I prefer to use Bananas.

 

1 KM = Roughly 5,000 Fresh Bananas
