A bandit's guide to DayZ

Recommended Posts

Before the shouting starts, i am not the type of bandit that just mows down anyone i see, that is boring.

I wont number them or anything as these are just suggestions and not a strict list, but do keep in mind these are for your more experienced players, not for new players to use, as alot of it can/will get you killed if you don't know what you're doing. This will not help with loot routes or anything like that, this is purely having to do with how to treat people, and your equipment.

Sense it is the most important i'll start with talking about your squad. Every-soon-to-be-bandit needs one, be it just two people, or as strong as ten, you will need one. Not only does it allow you heal each-other if an issue acquires, but it does make it easier to steal from players. An example of this would be a friend holding a weapon pointing it at your target while you use a blood bag to take it from them, no reason for anyone to die at this point as long as they listen. This goes for most encounters as well, making it quite abit easier to take what you need. Just make sure you all call out when your doing something like firing to kill a zombie, ect.

Next would be your weapon comp. You need to always make sure the weapons both you and your allies work with each-other, if the whole group is using sniper rifles, and one decides he wants to use a shotgun, guess who wont be apart of the fight when you need him? That being said, if you have a much larger group around Five-Ten you can set up "sub-squads" some using rifles, and others using snipers, and use it to flank the targets you are currently fighting.

Hiding should be considered an act of aggression, you let them know you see them, and have them come out, if not you have no idea what they are doing. Calling for back up? Lining up a sight? you wont know until after it has happened.

Lastly, do not accept new recruits, sure you can have those off of the forums, and the ones you've known for quite awhile, but any person wondering around may be intimidated and want to join you for safety..or a chance to jump you later on. This is one of the main killers of "Gentlemen Bandits" the people you just robbed..you just robbed, they aren't happy with you, nor do they want to be your friend.

Alright that's all i have off the top of my head if anyone wants to add to this, feel free to.

LET THE WAY OF THE RICOCHET FIST GUIDE YOU!

Erhm, What?

I didn't get a clue of this, i'm afraid ..

Apart from 2 people, 1 gun pointing at the target, and the other stealing the Bloodbag

Basicly it boils down to, stealing smart without killing the target, use guns together that make sense (Don't mix short range with long range if your group is small) And don't allow people to follow you if you don't know them.

Well i didn't kill any player till now (no need to) but: i would add something what came in my mind with reading your post.

If you team up, always play with people that can concentrate on their targets AND and still are able to have one eye to the squad and what is going on. Or you have the trust in those guys that they are knowing what they are doing.

my Point is: nothing is worst that a squad-member that keeps asking,"where are you" "what are you doing" ("where am i" xD )

the better squad-member is - short and quick information on teamspeak, not "i found a banana" (nobody cares) just the things the squad really needs to know.

Like: "Target in sight" or "reached position".
