DevilDog (DayZ) 455 Posted January 8, 2014 Listen, I have read a million posts on FPS and watched 100 videos on it and they all say something different. Do exactly what I did and you will be ok. Go to your start menu in the game. Take note of what your FPS is. Mine was 18 at the time. Then go into video settings and change your resolution. This will have a decent sized impact on FPS and graphics. I keep mine at 100% (keep yours where it looks good but still has a decent FPS, start and 100% and you can go back later). Then go to Quality, Rendering and Textures and change each setting. Try the setting on several levels (disabled, low, normal, high ect) and see what your FPS does each one and see what the graphics do too. As you go through each one keep an eye on the FPS. Some things don't change it at all and others have massive impacts on FPS. One setting even appeared to make the graphics AND FPS worse lol. When you are done with all of the settings you will be at your best. When I got done I went from 18 FPS to 40 FPS on that screen (some start screens are different). I run about 35 FPS on average now in the game. I did sacrifice some FPS for looks though, because I am not in this game to "win"; I want to enjoy it. Plus 5-10 FPS doesn't make a ton of difference.
