Acquisition of clothing

Make clothing less abundant in buildings, but have the ability to loot zombies for clothing etc.

 

Zombies currently disappear soon after dying and I realise that having zombie bodies strewn around everywhere, probably isn't really practical from a technical standpoint, but maybe if they stuck around for a minute or two, we would have enough time to rid them of any useful clothing / food / water, that they may have. After all, they were likely survivors before becoming zombies.

The clothing would likely be in a random state of wear, given that zombies don't tend to look after their clothes or care what they look like, but perfectly useable none the less. Pristine clothing would only be found occasionally and only in buildings.

 

Now, as somebody rightly pointed out, 'why would I want to put on a zombie blood covered, anything'? Maybe taking said item to water, where the item could be washed, would rid the item of all that zombie nastiness and give the player the new look/capacity they were looking for?

If Rocket really wanted to add something thats already been done, i.e. walking dead, he could put in, when wearing zombie clothing, there is a 75% chance that they will ignore you.

I like it!

And to add an element of danger to the infected (unwashed) zombie clothing. If you bleed whilst wearing it, you become infected and it's game over.

I like the suggestions. No idea whether it would be practical; I guess it depends how the devs implement zombie spawning/despawning.

I believe someone, somewhere, mentioned that Rocket is intending to add looting mechanics for zombie/dead PC clothing, with a chance of becoming infected if the item is worn/looted. Not sure on the specifics. I do like the idea though.

Also, I think the zombie AI as it is, is simply acting as a filler; the devs have mentioned that the finished zombie AI probably won't make it in for a while yet, so I imagine the despawn timer will probably be changed up with all the rest.

Id say the infection behind the zombies in DayZ is something similar to walking dead, so being bitten is unrelated for being

infected by zombie virus and the deadliness behind the bites is the deadly bacteria on the teeth and saliva. As for terms

of taking zombies clothing is silly,i understand covering yourself with zombie guts, but taking bacteria ridden clothing

from zombies and wear it is going to make you sick definitely.
