I really find it un immersive when my char dies after 30 mins with out food its rediculous.

It's the rule of threes for survival, 3 minuets without air, 3 hours without shelter, 3 days without water, 3 weeks/months without food.  It would be nice for that to happen but considering the average lifespan is something like 3 hours...
