New player, First Impressions!

So a friend of mine bought me this just yesterday, I've been wanting to play DayZ for a year now. So far I love it. I played it for 5 hours straight last night with my bff and I love exploring for supplies and trying to avoid walkers. The knowledge of other players possible being right in your area adds a lot of excitement to me, always being on the lookout for a potential threat.
So my experience so far is 10/10, at least for now as I haven't died yet XD

I have had similar experiences like you've had. Try playing in first person only servers for that extra immersion ^_^ It's going to get better in the upcoming weeks from what I've heard.

Also a brand new player here. Not as positive an experience, have met one friendly person who told me little, the rest were hostile.

I'm glad to hear it, my suggestion is if you head up to the NE you tend to find a few more people who aren't quite as hostile. It's kinda where people go for supplies who really don't want to run into other people. So if you run into others they are usually not as aggressive, but don't let your guard down. Also 1st person only servers are the way to go.\/

So you should check out the BMRF US2 first person only server. You can find it at the IP 23.250.112.170 on Port 2302. BMRF is a great community, very large, and they will get very high end servers once they are allowed to do a private hive.  Eventually you'll need to be whitelisted, but it is worth it.
