Alright, so I played DayZ previously on Arma 2, but when I installed the standalone, and tried to get into game, everything that was not the sky is black, has anyone else had this problem, or know of a solution?

Define 'black'?  is it nighttime on your server?

Turn your gamma and brightness up, if it goes grey then it's probably just night time.

Ehmmm. At night the sky is also black guys. If this is indeed about nightime server this topic is funny as hell.

 

Clouds are "greyish" during nighttime.
