What causes Desync?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what causes personal Desync on servers?

Is it just packetloss / lag? or are there other reasons for it?

Large floppy donkey wieners from outer-space eating french fry flavored marshmallows while wearing capes and singing, "Can You Take Me High Enough", by the Damn Yankees. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_uh8XjgLTE

dunno... I'm bored, probably just the shitty infrastructure at the moment.

Usually it is server lag. Sometimes it has to do with the client's internet but usually it is happening to everyone.

Edit: Although I am sure Damn Yankees has something to do with it.

Its basically your gameclient disagreeing with the server and vice versa, about various things.

Including where you are, who you are, what you have, who is near you, your status, etc.

Mostly caused by a busy/overloaded server, or a bad connection between you and the server.

Whether or not that connection problem is detectable or solvable by YOU or any other PLAYER, is up for debate.

99% of internet connection problems are out of your reach.
