Magaz97 41 Posted January 7, 2014 Has anyone read Terry Pratchett, the Long War? If you have, this may make more sense. In the Long Earth and the Long War, there are infinite worlds, all the same as each other, just a step away from each other (Servers). People can step from one reality into the next at will, infinite times. However, when they step, they cannot take anything metallic with them. How about introducing this into Dayz servers. Server hop or combat log as much as you want, but when you do, you lose anything metallic from your inventory. Just a thought :)

Steak and Potatoes 13480 Posted January 7, 2014 :beans: For creativity and taking it to the next level. The quantum computing world would appreciate this in the many worlds theories.
razguul@gmail.com 80 Posted January 7, 2014 Serverhopping right now is a non-issue as there is no loot respawn, once the loot starts respawning you'll see a significant drop in serverhopping. Combatlogging is being worked on according to devs.
Boonie 216 Posted January 7, 2014 Connectivity needs addressing first I think, I lost connection with every server I was on yesterday. Twice when in military barracks, the wait for my char to appear was nerve racking as I thought I could be shot as a server hopper, or just KOS when they heard the ammo load noise as I logged in. WierdBeard 18 Posted January 7, 2014 (edited) Amen on the connectivity. Whenever I'm on a high population, low ping server, I get anywhere from 30-60 minutes before it dc's me. The more players in the vicinity and VOIP seem to exacerbate the problem. I was in the midst of a hilarious shakedown by the Cherno PD for illicitly stealing a beanie from a home. Handcuffed and everything. And right in the middle of their RP the server dumps me. Bummed me out since the whole reason I was running around was to see some examples of player interaction. deebz1234 243 Posted January 7, 2014 that is an interesting concept for sure, so beans. but realistically it would work...if you couldnt transfer weapons from server hopping it would curb the hopping instantly...but so would a 2 minute timer...and at least with the simple timer you could stand to goto others servers if say one was broken. id be mightly pissed if a server crapped out and i was forced to join another without any weapons or canned food hah
