how can i check the server i am currently on?

Recommended Posts

hi there,

well, the topic says it all... how can i check on what server i am currently on? i.e. see the name and details of the server?

a friend wanted to play along with me, but i wasnt able to tell him on wich server i was... i could've changed to another server with him, but since there are circumstances in wich a server change isnt the best option, like when ure on a fresh started server that isnt picked clean... and i dont want to write down every servername im joining... i would like to know how to check the server im on ingame.

If a friend wants to play with you, he simply checks the "friends"-tab in the server browser, and he will find you right away.

On another note, I too want to know if there is a way to check the server information for the server you are currently playing on.

Also, since its on steam. He can just click "join game" from the friendslist :P

Okay, just did a quick check to confirm a theory, and it proved correct! Yay me.

Now, I haven't found a way to do it automatically in game, but if you open up the file 'Documents\DayZ - Other Profiles\<Profiule Name>\<Profiule Name>.DayZProfile' and search down near the bottom of the file for the lines:

lastMPServer="119.252.191.191:2602";
lastMPServerName="DayZ Standalone Hosted by LasR Gaming (Public/3PP:ON) 114008";

That's the info you're looking for. These lines are updated when you join a server, so if you have this file open in a editor that can detect the changes as they happen, you can track exactly which servers you are on in real time.

As I said, not automatic, but the best we can do ATM.

I know you can hit P to see what players are there, does that show the server as well?

At the very least, the server history tab should have the times and dates that you were logged in to the last 10 or so  servers you joined.
