Singleplayer?

Recommended Posts

No actually maybe we like this little thing called SOCIAL INTERACTION.

What is this social interaction?

As for singleplayer. There was thread where someone suggested a series of tutorial like singleplayer missions, set when the chaos began. In this, your NPC friend would teach you the basics, from shooting, to looting. The suggester also said that the missions would end with your buddy teaching you to fly... Then your shot down (bloodied hand, ofcourse) voila, ur in cherno.

Buy Left 4 Dead 2 and play it singleplayer. Amazing game, good for offline.

But please leave DayZ:SA alone, there will never be a single player and you should stop wanting it. You want something useless for a game like this. How do you imagine playing DayZ:SA as a single player? Who are you going to fight? :) The zombies are week and are simply not a threat at all. You may say they are toughter now but no they aren't, just hit in the head with your axe, done. Now, zombies are not a threat, no other players. Talking to rabbits or annoying the zombies with your presense? Devs will not be making any NPC's or vendors. It is a zombie apocalypse and therefore it is not simple at all to implement some sort of a quest system. Survivor NPC's? This is lame

DayZ is supposed to be a 100% player driven experience. "Singleplayer DayZ" is pretty much a paradox. It isn't DayZ without other players.

Disagree. Players equal death which mean restarted char which means, fuck it, I'm done playing for the night. Nothing about this game encourages playing with other players, *everything* about this game encourages playing by yourself, or with a couple of friends you made *outside* the game.

Heck, I've read a forum mod on here saying 'don't like people killing you? stay away from people', (something to that effect) sounds like an endorsement for single player to me. Which is kind of silly when I see the same people here crapping on someone for making a peep about wanting single player.

Anyways, won't we have single player once we get the ability to make a LAN?

I'll toss out a vote for Singleplayer or private / local hives.

Fun is where you find it. I find fun in looting and travelling the map without having to worry about watching my back every time I enter/leave a building. Would it get stale? Maybe. But I'd certainly get my $30 worth out of it.

It's an option and all we're saying is there are some people who would enjoy it (a loot-based open world sandbox game with AI enemies). Enabling this as an option won't affect the rest of you who for some reason can't imagine playing offline.

I can't see the point. Player interaction is what this game is all about. There are friendlies out there, last night alone I had 4 peaceful encounters with other players. As a starving new spawn a dude gave me some cereal and beans. Later on, I helped out a newbie and showed him where he could find an SKS. After that, while checking out a barn I stumbled on another survivor. It was tense, weapons were out but we talked it out and went our seperate ways. I've grouped with randoms as well. There are plenty of reasonable people playing SA.

If you really want this style of game in singleplayer, STALKER: Lost Alpha comes out this week on the 26th. Hell, even a properly modded SHOC, Clear Sky or Pripyat give great SP post-apoc survival experiences.

I do want a singleplayer. But not so I don't meet people. That is a part of the game. I mostly want a single player so I would be able to play at those times when I don't have internet.

Why is simple text colour not enaugh for people nowadays?

Single player would become way too boring.

You can load the Standalone into Arma 3 and use the editor to explore the map.  There are no zombies or loot though.  But you could walk around and explore if you wanted.

This!

I would like to see a client side tutorial implemented in the game which you could play. It's hard for newbies to get a hold of all the controls and a tutorial for basic movement, shooting, looting would be awesome.

I remember how hard it was for me to get used to all the controls when I was a noob... :)

Offline?

Why would you want something as boring as that?

But then again it's your opinion, DayZ was created to be a MMO. Creating a Singleplayer mode will take up alot of restless hours. Maybe a private server?
