Sooden 301 Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) this is to help people with no Mic or speak different languages. Some people that need to type don't want to stop any type, as it puts them at risk. SO what if their where a few more basic gestures like 'Yes', 'No", 'Surrender now', 'i need help' and so on. Also add a default voice to the actions witch is automatically translated to other players. Like you may say 'hello' with an English sound file, but then on a Russian client, it plays the Russian version for that player Edited January 6, 2014 by Sooden
mzltv 2281 Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) If they don't understand eachothers language, then what are they going to be saying Yes or No to..? Also add a default voice to the actions witch is automatically translated to other players. Like you may say 'hello' with an English sound file, but then on a Russian client, it plays the Russian version for that playerAlso this isn't such a great idea. That'd spoil half the fun of DayZ...Look at the below video for reference, and try appreciate how the magic of it would have been spoilt if there was some kind of magical universal translator Edited January 6, 2014 by mzltv

mzltv 2281 Posted January 6, 2014 I don't think there should be too many gestures to be honest. It'd get to the point where a surrender situation would be as follows:- I don't remember what key is the "Yes" gestureTake a pot shotEnd up flipping him the birdGet shot in the faceFini
Sooden 301 Posted January 6, 2014 On the fence about this idea me self, but been in my mind for a while. So it nice to get it out and see what people think.
