Apart from basic human needs, what would you want in an apacalypse?

Anyone who has been in the wild for more than a few days, has a pretty good idea of what he/she would want to have access to, come an apocalypse.

 

Basic human needs are obvious: Food, Water & Shelter (and a gun)

 

Food and water is there ingame, but the shelter thing not really yet. Maybe when they implement being warm, cold, wet etc we will get the shelter part.

 

But the more interesting part I think is the longer survival conditions that you would need to have/get to survive, not just physically but also mentally.

What would those be for you? A light beer and blue jeans?

 

Having been in the army and on several survival trips into the wild I'm pretty sure of what I would want!

 

1. A hot meal

I know this will be implemented soon, so that we can get those nice hot meals, even if its just rice!

 

2. A hot shower

Probably a wierd thing to implement, but if they want realism, this is one of the most precious dreams you have when you are in the wild, that nice hot bath! People say you get used to your own bad smell, and you do. But the smell of smoke from the fires you make every night, gets to you over time. Everything will end up smelling of smoke. In the stone age people died at 30, not just because of saber tigers, but indeed because of an extremely unhealthy closeness to fire and smoke. I.e. take your grill indoor (don't), and you will either die or get ill.

 

3. Clean water to drink

Drinking water from ponds and streams, would make you ill pretty soon in an apocalypse, unless you are way off into the wild. Unless the apocalypse did nothing to the natural world, which I'd very much doubt. Water cooked over fire has a very bad taste of smoke, which for a day or two will be alright, but after a while start to get to you. Mentally this could be one of the things to bring you down given enough time. Clean water is a blessing, and is somewhat in game.

 

4. A warm bed

Nothing beats a good night sleep. I guess they can fit this into the game by sleeping in your tent or something, making you fully rested in the morning.

 

5. A sense of safety

Hard to get in this game. That would probably come only by joining a clan. Right now people are desperate and turn to battle logging, low pop servers, server hopping for loot etc. But hen all that is gone, what will they do?

 

6. Other people

Again, its fun to be in the wild for a while, but then you start to miss people, and so the next big thing would be to establish some kind of community, i'e clans.

 

7. Sex

If you are 12 years old, you might survive without this. But the older dudes won't and would look out for female (or same sex) fun. And the bad ones, the bandits :), would start raping everyone out there. Hard to add to the game, and would probably need an extreme rating. But if you want realism...

 

8. A plan/mission/goal/job

This is an easier one to implement. After a while roaming about and having survived the worst of it, you would want some kind of stability in your life.. again solved by grouping and clans.

Regarding to the medical-system:

 

What if, you would need to sedite one in order to pull the bullets out of him.

If you don't, he can become unconscious or even die by reflex. 

 

You would have to sedite him with morphine. Or if you got none, you have to use alcohol. I would suggest, that you become unconscious by alcohol but can't die due the operation.
