What would your roadmap for DayZ look like?

Recommended Posts

I'd like to gather some opinions here.

What do you think has higher priority over other things to be patched into DayZ?

I know all of this are already planned. It's just about which of them should come sooner then others and why.

Here's my List:

1.) Things to store stuff in (tents, boxes, stashes, etc)
This adds a very important layer of gameplay, and should come sooner then other things.
Right now there is so little to do once you are geared up.
This would add so much new gameplay mechanics and player interactions.

2.) Hunting & Cooking
also making fireplaces etc. something to do when you are out there in the wilderness. So the only entertainment isnt about going to some places with people because there is nothing else to do.
If Hunting one day becomes as deep as one of the older Deer Hunter Games, I think I wont even see any other survivor anymore for a year.

3.) More Items
just to add greater diversity.
More different styles of clothes (russian farmer style? business type? worn out hobo?). More random loot things. also trash loot.
Just like the books add a gameplay layer of people playing scholar style, more stuff with more diversity gives us more ways to play around.
Or put simply: Give us more toys.

4.) More Guns
Adds diversity and also more thought&problems into tactics.
with more diverse guns also comes more diverse ammo, which means ou really have to think about what you carry with you. maybe you can trade those shotgun shells in later, even if you deno't need them for your empty AK right now? Or should you dump your AK and rather pick up that double barrell shotty?

5.) more Zombies
Pretty way down on this list, right? That's because I felt that DayZ right now without Zombies (encountered 3-5 in 2 weeks) still feels like DayZ.
Still gives us this moments of goose-bumps.
It's just this: Zombies aren't what makes DayZ to be DayZ. It's the human apocalypse survival factor that does everything.

Still: more zombies would definitely add more tension and a harder gameplay.

So, that would be my top 5 priorities.
How about you?

You know i've never been too keen on tents etc.

Storing items for when you die seems a bit off, but i understand some players need the comfort.

However if there are ways i can completely destroy any tents i find then i'm in!
