Surprisingly Friendly Encounters

Recommended Posts

Okay, so just going to start out by saying this: Maybe about a week after the release of DayZ SA people have been going back to their KoS ways, which I don't see as a problem, it just adds fear into the game, which is absolutely needed, but, I still think we've been needing more friendly players, and today, I've been very very surprised.

So story time, here we go: Okay, so I was talking to a friend of mine, and we decided we wanted to play DayZ today, so we both logged onto DayZ (Where we found our Character Info Wiped, but I was kind of pleased with that) and both tried to figure out our locations. We both (After a good 10 or 20 minutes) found out where we were, and made a plan on where and how we were going to meet up. So as I was headed down the Main Road/Highway On the Coastline, I ran into another player, and he could have easily killed me, for I was only "armed" with my trusty flashlight, while he had a Sharp Splitting Axe, however, he announced he was friendly, and so did I. Then not even 10 seconds later, another player came down the road, who was friendly. Now, your going to call me a liar no doubt, but maybe a minute later we ran into ANOTHER player, who also claimed to be friendly. Now we all started talking and sharing loot with each other, depending on what each other needed. One of them gave me a Pipe Wrench since he had a Bayonet, and I got a nice Soda with it. Then we all started sprinting down the highway, where we ran into another player, yet again friendly. We all headed to Electro together, where sadly we went our separate ways. However, when in Electro, I ran into another player, who may or may not of been one of the same people, who claimed he was friendly too. I continued my looting run, gathering a Blue Hoodie, Blue Bandanna, Baseball Bat, and First Aid Kit (Among other things). Then I started sprinting in the opposite direction, for my friend I first intended on meeting had been killed by the infamous Zombies. So I started full on sprinting out of this blasted city, and on the way ran into 3 more players. However, one of them thought it would be fun to attempt an attack on me (Bandit Alert) and I smashed his soft little skull in and killed him (Exaggerating a little) and continued. Finally I met up with my friend, but sadly we died due to a bandit attack maybe an hour later, but that's just how the game goes, and we enjoyed our little time together.

Now this story may seem pointless, it may not, but I've completely regained hope for the friendly community of players, just because of this one server. I had many player encounters, and not many of them were hostile. All in all, for those who say we don't have enough friendly players, I am going to challenge that now. We just approach too strongly, and people get nervous, that or we just don't have good enough luck to run into the right people. Stay strong, stay friendly, stay alive. Thanks for reading :)

I completely believe you. This is what happened to me...

I have no issue with people doing KOS, as long as it's 'honest'. If you're gonna shoot, fight or whatnot, do it. If you're gonna be friendly, be friendly. I choose not to KOS, I try my best to help. We were at Balota airfield tonight and helped out two guys, gave them compasses, water bottles and some other stuff. When we were running away from there, parting friendly, they shot us in the back and killed us. Goddamn cowards. Nothing but cowards.

That annoys me. A pussy shoots someone in the back. There was no need for the fight, we weren't a threat, they had established that. We were all armed with 5.56 rifles, but they chose to do that. But, that's part of the game at the end of the day. It just makes me more wary. Soon after when I spawned back in, I was approached by a guy with an axe, decked out in camo gear. I thought I was doomed. He ran up, gave me some stuff and told me he would help me. We ended up talking, later on got onto Teamspeak with each other and we met up with his mates. 5 of us ended up running around with each other and now we're on Steam with each other, forming our own group to adventure with. So out of something bad, came something good at least. Had a bad experience which led to a great one.

Oh and we found those assholes later, easily distinguised by the combo of masks and helmets... I clubbed one of them with a shovel and my mate unloaded some pistol rounds into them and killed them :D what an evening!!! It's things like this that make the game worth playing!

Yeah, I've had a share of good and bad experiences, honestly, I think we have a lot of friendlies, but they're just too scared of others to actually be "friendly". Which again, adds to the experience, fear is an important factor to survival. It WILL keep you alive, whether it will be a good life though, that's the question. Yeah, but one time I was at a Fire Station Near Komarovo or in it (Not sure if I spelled the city correctly) And I ran into a guy, and he let me ransack the place, and I missed a headtorch. Instead of stashing it for himself, he told me, and left. It was hard to get with the Vicinity Loot, and I couldnt really see it so I couldnt get it by looking at it and scrolling, but as soon as I got it, someone came up to me, and I thought it was the same guy, so I said something along the lines of "Hey, thanks for showing me the headtor" And I got cut off, because when I turned the light on It was a different person, a female with an Ax, an Ax that was about to be driven into my skull. But oh well, I got too comfortable. One friendly, one bandit. What can I say? Its DayZ :P Its amazing :)
