*SUGGESTION* Coughing?

Hello community.

Its been quite a while since ive been here, i stopped playing DayZ some time ago, awaiting the SA.

Now its here ive bought it and jumped into testing it :)

So lets start with a small story first.

 

I am currently mortally ill (men's flu, nuff said!!!) and ive just gotten home from a walk.
Let me be honest, i was out smoking a joint hehe. Now, while i was out smoking i was walking and thinking about the game, what i like about it so far, what can be improved, etc.
Being that im on the virge of dying (men's flu!) i was coughing alot and i started listening to the sounds i made.

When i started smoking the spliff, i didnt cough alot, it was small, subtle and not very loud, but as i progressed down the road, smoking more and more, the cough got way more intense.
Some times it was 1 cough, some times it was 3-6 directly after each other.

 

Now, this is what i actually wanted to talk about :)

I realize the whole infected system and coughing and what not, havent even left the development table yet, but thats no reason to not talk about it.
 

I would very much like to see some differences in coughing, based on the sickness level of your char, and im talking both the way it sounds but also the volume it has. If you recently got ill, it should be small subtle couch's, nothing major and barely able to hear. Once your sickness progresses it should involve more volume, maybe even some kind of cough "cramps", slowing your char for a sec or two, like real life. Would be awsome if we had 10-20 different cough "sounds" in the game.
I would also like to see the volume increase alot as you progress in the sickness. Just like real life, you should be able to hear a very sick man cough from quite far away, and so should the Z's.

Now im not saying it should involve agro, but what if they started walking towards the source of the sound?

 

 

Just my 2 cents on coughing :) What do you guys think?

I like it, adds more realism and immersion. I was leaning towards zombies agroing from a cough as i read, but as you say if they just wander towards the noise it would be good. Its like how they had it in the mod where zeds slowly gravitated towards the player. Made setting ambushes close to towns hard. 

 

Maybe if your too close to a zombie it will agro from a loud cough. Then you could litteraly say to a buddy...."im too ill to go.....can you go fetch me my pills" haha

My point exactly, i realise this could make "lone wolfing" more difficult, but it would make the game more immersive overall tbh.

I like the idea of direct agro if you are say, 10m from a Z, and theres direct line of sight, perhaps you are behind it or on your belly in a bush or something.

It hears the sound, turns around and agro :)

I like. It's these small things that can bring the sa from average to great. U should also be able to smoke ingame. Have smoke appear, just like frosty breath.
