Why you don't climb ladders

We watched this chap for a bit, when we saw him at the ladder we were all like..' uhunh..oh no you don't fool..aaaaand there he goes'

We grabbed his mosin and threw on a scope i had been carrying around for a bit, gave it a few test shots and then left it back near him in case he decided to do the run back.

Ladders. No.

First, I only heard stories about 'dem ladders. Didn't give it much thought. Until that day in the elevator shaft... never forget.

 

But seriously, is there a way to circumvent those stupid deaths so far? My idea was to climb and immediately hit the "w" (move forward) key to prevent falling off. Can people confirm that this works? After my own ladder death I only did that and it supposedly worked for me so far. At least at school building ladders and some shafts.
