Constant character resetting?!

Ok guys, I know this happens, but it happened days ago and just now happened again, again and again (yes, three times). p.s. if you don't want the story, skip to "In brief,"

 

You know what I am talking about - character resetting! Yes, to default, with no gear or anything.

I spent hours with my friend hanging around with really good gear (M4 with add-ons, all military clothes, medicine, food, canteens, ammos, etc.) and then we found the server getting more and more laggy (we don't have good computers, so we are slightly laggy for most of the time, but this is for real laggy). Finally, we chose to exit and disconnect (as well as do an internet connection check).

 

After we logged in, we both yelled:" Holy xxxx!" Our characters reset to default. I told my friend to chill (our last lives before reset were his first experience in DayZ, so he thought we would be fine all the way, i've been through this reset once, so I didn't think this is a big deal).

 

Some time later (we spawned close), we met and I was like:" Alright, let's start it over." And for some reason, we decided to switch server (too many people, armed people). At the time we logged into a new server... reset again!!!

 

It happened the third time and we decided to take some time off...

 

In brief, while I was playing with my friend, our characters reset couple of times. Interestingly, after reset, we spawned somehow close to each other.

 

I wonder if this is a glitch of the game, or the servers (like there are "Reset servers"?), or due to the fact that we have crappy computers that run on lowest performance, or because we are doing some constant (trust me, one or two times in one hour) server switching?

 

Tell me if this happened to you guys and how you solved it (or not?).

 

Again I know this is Alpha, so I am not mad but worried if this is a unique problem to me and my friend.Thank you

Issues with invisible loot and zombies can be resolved by restarting the server. Official servers should be restarting over the next few.

DayZ's hive is currently getting DDos'd and it's causing all sorts of problems. Stay off the servers for now, they're a danger zone.

i have had 5 complete character wipes being fully geared for most of them, it is alpha, it will happen through bugs or patches, get use to it up until release
