OrLoK 16185 Posted January 3, 2014 Google, Know the name of the cities... and this:http://dayzdb.com/map#2.070.135Hello there To me, this spoils much of the game. Try to find common landmarks or agree to all head S to the cost and the head east or west. Half the fun should be the adventure getting to eachother IMHO. Korsbaek 1778 Posted January 3, 2014 You'll have to memorize the coast. You'll have to memorize the cities/towns.You'll have to memorize landmarks. That should be it :D
OrLoK 16185 Posted January 3, 2014 True, but to a person that doesn't really knows the map(Never played ArmA 2 / DayZ Mod) it would be really helpful, I don't really use DayZ db a lot more, I did back then when I needed to learn the map, because, I want to know what is what and where i'm at, I guess everyone has their style of play though, right?Hello there I agree, each to their own, but for me, not having a clue where you are and having to actually navigate/trust to luck gives me much more of an adventure and longer playtime. I just think using external maps spoils your own fun, and if one uses them they are cheating themselves out of a great experience. Just MHO though :) Rgds LoK
Boonie 216 Posted January 3, 2014 I like to follow the power lines and see where they take me. I seem to find a few power stations, or the same power station.
ap1werks 5 Posted January 3, 2014 I think I have seen this hill before. Yep, nope, wait, yep, nope. Where the hell am I? I also like finding the names of towns on signs and then trying to say them. I don't think I am saying them right, but a heavy russian accent helps. As an aside; if you play during the night, the stars are very helpful for direction, as long as no clouds are present.
