Improved Medical System

DayZ's current medical system has a firm base to improve on. I can see the future of DayZ's medical system being nicely developed and being a moderate necessity to the survival of players. Below are suggestions to improve on:

 

Excessive Bleeding:

When bandages are not enough to stop more dramatic blood loss, a homemade tourniquet could be crafted using of a strip of t-shirt and a screw driver or a manufactured tourniquet that can only be found in medical institutions. The tourniquets would only be temporary until the affected area can be cleaned and dressed properly.

 

Broken Bones:

If a player breaks a bone, other players can have the option to reset the bone and/or carry the injured player over long distances if

necessary. Braces and slings can be crafted or scavenged to improve the rehabilitation process of the injured player. Broken bones can compromise the players ability to use two-handed weapons such as axes, baseball bats, and assault rifles. 

 

Sickness/Infection/Disease: 

Sickness can be contracted from scavenged items, players, or opened wounds that have not been treated. The type of illness contracted

is dependent on the players symptoms (coughing, vomiting, constant moaning, etc.). Players could use different blood testing instruments

to test a sick players blood to find out what the sick player is infected with. Players could have the option to quarantine other sick players to prevent the disease from spreading or wear respirators. As a precaution, players can use the disinfectant spray to lower the chances of contracting an illness. 

 

Though these are only a few suggestions, Hopefully they can be improved.

i like the idea of broken arms and being able to carry players, however i think it should only be added in after vehicles, so you can carry your buddy 30m to the car, park the car outside a city, go loot the hospital and bring him the gear rather than carry him 800m to the nearest place to get morphine

Yea i definitely agree Jasher. I would absolutely hate to carry a player that long of a distance.

As far as I know the medical system will definitely change/improve in the future to expand the survival-feeling. Carrying players was also suggested and approved.

I agree with being able to carry players, that'd be cool. That would also help when you knock someone unconscious and want to take them somewhere to cuff 'em and mess with them without risking being caught. The distances you're able to move them should really depend on your current condition and energy levels of course. You would move slower and would not be practical to carry long distances, but like everything else in the game, it shouldn't be impossible.

 

In terms of broken bones, there should be a new stage of movement, were you effectively drag your foot along the ground, rather than having to crawl, as that makes getting in and out of buildings a real pain in the backside.
