A tale of Bandit Hunting

So here's a quick little story of yesterdays events when I had decided with my buddies that we would go Bandit Hunting.

 

It started when I spawned in Elektro and started heading west to rendezvous with my group; after only patrolling from NWAF to Green Mountain for the past few weeks, we all decided that we would go from Balota up to Berezino by moving along the coastal areas only. I first went to Pavlovo camp to get geared up with an M4 and some clothes (No masks) and moved down to Balota airfield once the entire group was geared up. In Balota Airfield we encountered our first person so we all opened Direct Comms VON and repeatedly said "Friendly" etc, the guy closed the door to a room and logged out (Thank you for that, idiot; I have no doubt that you were killed in the new server you joined for logging out in Bandit Territory when we were going to give you food, water etc).

 

We continued on to Chernogorsk where we began looting and encountered another player who just ran away, I didn't blame him for running out of fear, or not wanting "to be killed again" (A reference to most bandit kills in that area). We had looted Chernogorsk for about 30-40 minutes, found a lot of food which was our main hope. From there we began heading through Prigorodki toward Elektrozavodsk; we encountered our third player who was equipped with a Mosin, he had seen us first however and took out two of our men thus hitting me. I ran to the side foliage and hid behind a tree to bandage, my group was all pressed together and pinned down; I stayed out of that pin-down, Instead I looked around and saw the shooter trying to flank us so I flanked him. This time I had him in sight before he saw me, as soon as he looked at me; he lowered his weapon and I shot 10 rounds in to him which then killed him. I informed my group that I had taken him out and our medic ran over to me, during that time I politely let the guy I had just killed in VON that we weren't going to hurt him, we were only interested in helping people out with food/water but he had killed two of us so it was a "Shoot on sight" initiative from there.

 

We looted his, and our guys bodies and took their food; when our fourth encounter came along; a guy with a baseball bat and a shovel. We asked him to put the weapons down and he did; for that we gave him a canteen, I sacrificed my tin-opener and gave him a few tins of food, I then told him that there were three bodies further down the road with guns and ammo on them should he wish to take one to be protected (We were all geared with M4's and food, we did not have room for any more weapons nor did we need them). My medic gave him some anti-biotics and what not to help him as he was sick and had a slightly grey screen; we parted ways and continued to Elektrozavodsk.

 

After attempting to loot, and realizing it was a dead end; we went to move but encountered our fifth player, again a person who was almost a fresh spawn. We spoke for a while and he decided to follow us on our journey to Berezino so we moved. It took us 20 minutes to rendezvous with two more members of the group at Solnichniy Factory and once we were all together we headed to Berezino; we looted a bit in Berezino and after I went away from my computer to grab a drink, everybody left so it was over there.

 

We had two more encounters between Kamyshovo and Berezino; one was on the roadway up and the guy only said "Well, fuck..." in VON when he saw us coming towards him, he said nothing else after that despite us asking if he needed food, water or medical treatment. The second guy was one of those fresh spawn types with the logic of "If I pretend I can't hear them in Direct Comms then maybe they'll leave me alone" so we did, we left him alone; wasted no more time with that kind and that was the end of the "action".

 

 

All-in-all, it was quite an enjoyable night; it was good to go "Bandit Hunting" to help out the new players, and it was all done without any 'KoS' attempts from my group or me.
