DouthPhoenix 0 Posted January 2, 2014 We're humans, in an apocalypse. I suggest we spawn in a random house or apartment somewhere on the map. Each player spawns in a different house or apartment on a server. That way we don't instantly know where we are, and it gives us a little loot. It's realistic. King of kong 1117 Posted January 2, 2014 No. I suspect that players were perhaps living in the city but escaped and got to the beach with just a torch that they could grab. Anything that makes the game easier is a no to me
Korsbaek 1778 Posted January 2, 2014 It would only be realistic if this was at the beginning of the apocalypse where people wouldn't have moved yet.
kichilron 8550 Posted January 2, 2014 We don't know anything about that, but I have heard multiple things. Maybe coming from a shipwreck and that's why everyone is on the shore? And that's why you don't really know anything about the landscape and have to find a map in order to be able to find anything. I do like it the way it is, currently. King of kong 1117 Posted January 2, 2014 I like to have my character's background as a Chernarussian civilian rather than shipwreck survivor, not relevent nvm.

jellyzRL 10 Posted January 4, 2014 I always thought it was generally accepted that you spawned on the beach because you had 'washed up', it works from gameplay point of view because it kind of separates the fresh spawns (generally close to shore) and the older characters (generally inland). sometimes I feel like my distance into the interior of the map is like a measure of how well I'm doing. it serves the game well to have a 'starting area'.
