liquidje 38 Posted January 2, 2014 Agreed but then there should be two recommended specs IMO, for desktops AND laptops. I'd say the majority of aren't aware that same CPU/ GPU combo in laptop does not equal to the performance of similar specced desktop. That is only when you erroneously assume that a gtx550M is as fast as a gtx550. But true, giving reliable system specs which are easy for noobs has always been hard to do. I don't think DayZ should try to change the world in this aspect tho'. s1rGr1nG0 81 Posted January 2, 2014 Well i play on a laptop and get great FPS. People need to know the limitations of their machine and some specs would be a good idea. This. My laptop runs SA just fine. i7, 16GB RAM, 3GB video. I love it!
L.Trale 1 Posted January 2, 2014 I play on a HP ProBook 6560b and can still run this game fine. Mod was always laggy for me. The only problem for me is desync.
nicolasvei (DayZ) 9 Posted January 2, 2014 I play on a laptop, and I run it at very low, everything turned off. The only thing that is ''high'' is my resolution at 100% instead of 60% I think, something like that. I played around 1000 hours for the mod, and I played already 120 hours of the SA. Never I complained about my DayZ experience. Sure, it's funnier when you can run at highest, but I think the only thing you can do, is to appreciate the game like it is. Running at very low but 100% resolution isn't that bad. No lag, no FPS drop, and I have a 500$ laptop. I had good encounters, and pvp battle, and pve battle on the mod, i set a good amount of traps, and I lived a two clan battle, it was epic on the mod, I wish I can live that again. I lived a pretty good experience of this game, which makes it my favorite game, it's so addictive. This is the only game I can't be bored, because it never ends, and it gives me this adrenaline rush that no other games can bring me. Sorry for the english :D
v3n3 0 Posted January 2, 2014 I play only on my laptop, it's an standard laptop with an i5-2410 (at 2,3GHz), a GFORCE GT 540M and 4GB of RAM and I can play high demand games with it (Crysis Saga, Bioshock Infinite, etc) and I can play DayZ:SA too. There's obviously some performance issues but the game remains playable with decent graphicsIm playing on a i7-2670, 32GB RAM and a ATI Radeon HD 6800, can play everything else without any Problems (Skyrim on Ultra, Bioshock Infinite on highest etc etc) but DayZ:SA is completely unplayable. It doesnt matter how much I change the Video Settings, the FPS always stay the same :-/
