kleep 1 Posted January 1, 2014 I was looting a tower at an airport and was there for about 10 minutes managing my inventory and dealing with lag. I was wearing a ballistic helmet, gas mask and behind glass windows. I am in the inventory when all of a sudden I get the black screen saying "You are dead". I didn't hear a shot or anything. And the weird thing is when I died I had the red disconnect symbol. Is it possible to be so far away that the target doesn't even hear a noise when going down? Is it possible to get 1 shotted while wearing a ballistic helmet? I would be okay if it was a sniper, I just have a weird feeling it was some exploit or bug. frosti 2165 Posted January 1, 2014 If you stay long in one place without moving then it is possible that zombie glitched in texture or something can come to you and kill you. Renji121 11 Posted January 1, 2014 i don't think it's that much of a desync, because i said before i died from drinking a soda on a server that literally restarted. its just a bug, i suggest not worrying about it and reporting it have the team look into it. halcyonmaus 1 Posted January 1, 2014 It's not just dysync / being shot, etc. About 6 times now I can consistently recreate this bug, where after climbing to the top of a ladder I pause, and insta-death screen. Exact same timing every time. The top of schools / firehouses seem to be the most consistent. And it's not falling then dying, I get up, on the roof, 1 second pause, death. mtclipz 31 Posted January 1, 2014 Well yesterday I went to one of the hospitals in Cherno and started to run up to steps in perfect health and it suddenly said "You are dead" with a black screen. There was no gun shot or a place a sniper could see me. No zombie noises, and no players in melee range. And I watched to see if anyone was looting me to be sure. Try logging on to a 0 pop server (you'll have to let the server list refresh for a while to get a good list of 0 pop servers that are actually working) then walk up to the air control tower. I think you'll find out that you're suddenly not dying. If you really think it's a bug though, try recording some in-game video of this bug in action more than once.
