The Legit Pie 18 Posted December 31, 2013 There is bullet travel and zeroing, they make the game as realistic as possible so it may seem that a gun is inaccurate when it's actually hard to use

TheLastEmp 295 Posted December 31, 2013 Please elaborate. Any testing you can do? In the 10 hours I've been able to put in since release I haven't noticed anything wrong with the accuracy. Is it offset at a distance or just up close? etc...
BHBDeano 18 Posted December 31, 2013 well I set zeroing at 400 hit low so up a hundred and hit same place a little to right upped to 600 and still hit low left
AmirDayz 54 Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) The guns are pretty damn inaccurate, forums user Gews made some tests and collected data which proves this point: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/157148-correcting-sa-ballistics/?hl=gews#entry1578615 Regardless, the guns are not more difficult to use than the ones in the DayZ mod yet anyone can tell they're significantly less accurate, zeroing, elevation and all that jazz exists in ARMA2/DayZ-mod, so it's not a 'learn to shoot' issue. flyingspatula 6 Posted January 1, 2014 The mosin does shoot slightly to the left for whatever reason.
BHBDeano 18 Posted January 1, 2014 (edited) makes me wonder if there is some hidden stats.. maybe to do with hunger/health that effect the accuracy other than the usual breathing heavy/shaking. some times it seems worse even tho pristine on all parts of the gun.maybe to do with the character has random hidden stats added when spawn in like blood type -10 gun accuracy Edited January 1, 2014 by BHBDeano
BHBDeano 18 Posted January 1, 2014 was worrying that the zeroing over 400 seemed to have no effect on raising the hit place
-Gews- 7443 Posted January 1, 2014 The mosin does shoot slightly to the left for whatever reason. If it's always shooting to the left it's probably an issue with the model itself.

flyingspatula 6 Posted January 1, 2014 If it's always shooting to the left it's probably an issue with the model itself.Yes, that is most likely the case. You have a good amount of dispersion if crouched or standing but with bipod it is fairly accurate minus shooting to the left. You don't really notice it until you start hitting targets over 400-600m. At 700m I find myself aiming a full shoulder length to the right of the target to hit center mass.
BHBDeano 18 Posted January 1, 2014 (edited) interested to know if the seemingly lack of accuracy is intended Edited January 1, 2014 by BHBDeano

Does this occur on pristine long range scopes, or only on damaged ones?
flyingspatula 6 Posted January 1, 2014 I've noticed no difference between the quality of long range scopes. It definitely shoots to the left on pristine.
Advent1 126 Posted January 1, 2014 (edited) Hello my fellow survivors. I will try to clear some things up regarding weapon accuracy! (From my experiences)Each part of the weapon influences accuracy, depending on the type and condition. For the M4 this means ; Hand guards and Butt stocks.MP (Magpul) parts seem to increase accuracy by a bit, while the CQB hand guard actually reduces it (as said by it's description). If you're shooting targets further than 100meters you should not be using a CQB butt stock but rather the MP counterparts or the default parts. As for the Mosin, after shooting 100+ rounds at people camping the cherno sniper tower I have come up with this. The condition of the scope severely effects where the bullet lands. If the scope is NOT pristine, it will shoot towards the left. My pristine scope w/ pristine bipod almost always (9 out of 10 shots) fires dead center, the MOST it would move to the leave is like a millimeter; not much.If your shots are still not hitting where you are aiming, check your weapon condition and it's attachments, and remember to zero accordingly like other users have posted. ozmann99 5 Posted January 1, 2014 I agree completely, I was firing at a zombie, coming towards me from not even 20 yards away with a handgun, every shot I kept it on center mass and they seemed to go wherever they pleased.

Judas666 14 Posted January 1, 2014 Sometimes when your scope is damaged it gets fucked up, like the bullet goes left or something when your long range scope is damages, or badly damaged.
flyingspatula 6 Posted January 1, 2014 Sometimes when your scope is damaged it gets fucked up, like the bullet goes left or something when your long range scope is damages, or badly damaged. If this is the case, then there is also a bug that is either showing broken scopes as pristine, or some pristine scopes still shooting to the left. I've gone through a few pristine scopes with the same problem.
BHBDeano 18 Posted January 1, 2014 could there be base weapon condition that we just cant see yet? there is just no consistency
