Kingkenneh 3 Posted June 22, 2012 I just had my face smashed in because this so called " melee " weapon wasn't melee at all. The axe and the crowbar act as RANGED weapons with a range of at least 5m, so you can kill zombies a decent distance away with them but as soon as they are on top of you, you don't be able to hit them for shit. kookucatchu@yahoo.com 0 Posted June 22, 2012 Your 5m is greatly exaggerated. I've racked up about 200 zombie kills total with the hatchet in the last 2 days during my couple spawns, and it IS a bit of a distance they are most reliable at, but NOWHERE NEAR 5m. 1m is ARGUABLY the furthest it'd work, and they do work close up, but because they are technically working as guns, your crosshair has to be over them, not off at all. It also is perfectly possible to kill zombies without getting hit most of the time with practice. I got 30 zombies last time and only ended up down to 10500 blood. maddogx 10 Posted June 22, 2012 Arma2 doesn't natively support melee weapons, so the ones we have now are really just rifles with weird stats and hatchet/crowbar skins. They are also far from finished, so give rocket some time to work out the kinks and I'm sure they'll be more fun/useful. Kingkenneh 3 Posted June 22, 2012 If ANYTHING they're 3m, I was hitting zombies so far from me it was stupid, I was able to go inside a house, swing at the zombie from the OTHER side of the wall out of the window and kill it.
guidez 180 Posted June 22, 2012 As Flootershai mentioned, regardless of whatever the supposed distance is, your crosshair HAS to be on the zed. The general swinging motion of the axe won't catch the zed.
