jaginun 87 Posted December 30, 2013 Looks like you won't be coming back, if you're expecing the community reaction to meeting a player to be (*snort snort*) better. Let's not make this into another of those topics, but the short story is people wouldn't be lovely and friendly like now if they were in this situation. Chances are, they were scared you were gonna try and 'greif' them.
DMHH 0 Posted December 30, 2013 So if you consider yourself as a "non-KOS-Player" and leave the game for now - guess who will stay and populate the servers. ;)

Simn 8 Posted December 30, 2013 I'm hoping after all the hype dies down, only the hardcore survival guys remain. That is until the 'full' release..
twingunz 308 Posted December 30, 2013 (edited) It will die off the initial hype of the game and it selling well brings in lots of new kids who saw it on the youtubes and wanna be cool kids too, these dudes more than likely don't even know this is a survival simulator just think it's a loot grind like BL2 with pvp in a gta open world map. once the game builds and new things come along they will get bored and move onto the next hype bandwagon, all that said the game selling well and getting good publicity is great for the game but bad for the players (but in the long term it's all win for us players not here for the hype) so what can you do! Sutinen 635 Posted December 30, 2013 (edited) I mean I agree with you in a way, since one time I had nothing on me and was punching a zombie in the face outside the Zeleno military base and heard someone reload his gun inside. I tried to avoid a fight and told him when I came up. Then he took his crowbar out and just started beating me in the head whilst saying "hello, how are you doing" over and over again in a shitty accent and monotone voice. I don't think even he found that funny.Anyways I still think you shouldn't make these topics. Make a new character and get the upper hand next time so you can shoot him if he doesn't co-operate. That's it. I would say 7 / 10 people I met are kids even if you talk friendly to them and they talk friendly back, they just kill you. Most of the people have a kid voice and below 20. I know this as best because I played now 9 rounds in a row medic without a gun, so I am friendly to everyone at anytime. But these 3 / 10 people I instantly add in steam, sometimes I gather everyone together on a teamspeak. So with my play style I create a kids and troll free zone, already got 40 people. In several months I will have at least 500 people and don't give a shit anymore about the kids. But yeha you are right the most people will leave, go back to COD. I even got killed several times while the guy killed me screaming "Fucker", "You noob", "Hahahahahhahahah" damn I can just imagine what kind of human sitting in front of the computer.
Jaygoon 240 Posted December 30, 2013 PVP is griefing? :oWould a duel system like WoW has suit you better?A player challenges you to a duel, you click yes or no buttons, then a countdown starts. Dayz is fine as it is, its the reason i & many others are here, There are many other PVE zombie games out there, go play one of them.

This game isnt for you and your ilk tbh. You would be happier playing a game where "mummys little soldier" always wins and is the "best boy in the class" :) peace out :) x
Jaygoon 240 Posted December 30, 2013 For your next game, may i suggest you buy Dark Souls :)Its on steam for only £6.79 and you will love it :) ps - you always win in Dark Souls :)

And yes, there is a difference between those two, but douchebags have nothing to do with PvP. People are proud of what they do because they managed to outwit another player in a military simulator mod, and they should be.

desryachri 95 Posted December 30, 2013 (edited) Yep so true but this is because combat logging ghosting kos and lack of zombies and re spawning loot / zombies.Fix those the game will be very enjoyable.Did not add server hopping because re spawning loot will fix that. colinm9991 196 Posted December 30, 2013 (edited) I didn't buy a sandbox GTA, I bought a survival game, I'm not playing a game to be grieved on. This has been my most interesting life and I friggin love this game thanks to how it went down. Oh really?, what happened to "friggin love this game"?. You had one death or bug and now you're raging hard because you're too stupid to realize that there are precautions to take when entering towns and buildings instead of just sprinting in with Direct Commns hot mic'd up whilst screaming "HEY GUYS LETS SET UP A SAFE ZONE AND KEEP BANDITS OUT SO COOOOL!". Three words; Fuck off mate, I am not sure how exactly you compare any game to GTA (Especially GTA V if that's your idea, that horrible horrible game), but just leave. uninspired 18 Posted December 30, 2013 I really do not understand why there are so many people complaining about KOS. According to Steam I've played Dayz for 54hours. I've died at least five times but I've never been killed on sight. Neither as a freshspawn nor later in game when I was fully equipped. Basically every time I died it was my own fault because I acted like a noob :D If you are being killed on sight so often it seems to me that you are doing something horribly wrong. Spot them before you get spotted. Always watch your environment. Don't trust anybody. Always have the upper hand. That's how youl will survive, that's how you avoid KOSing. But that does not mean that you can't have some nice conversations with other people. But don't be silly and just run naively into other people.. You never know what they are going to do.

maliceubx 73 Posted December 30, 2013 (edited) When you get past all the gameplay aspects of DayZ at the end of the day it's a human nature simulator... and humans are dicks. Take away all sense of responsibility, add in a dash of high risk high reward adrenaline filled combat and a general disregard for death (death penalties in this game just aren't what they used to be) and you're going to have a highly aggressive player base with little left to do but fight each other. This will remedy itself somewhat through additions to end-game as well as rarer gear and weapons (adding to the sense of loss) but all in all DayZ is a survival game where players are your biggest threat, not hunger, thirst, zombies or disease, and if you're not interested in that aspect of the game you're going to get very sick of it. Also, this isn't a 'fad' that is going to change - the community has been the way they are in DayZ since May 2012 and it won't change unless some dramatic mechanic is introduced. Once we see a higher player cap come into play (100-150) this is only going to get more dangerous, more cut throat. Dogtag (DayZ) 3 Posted December 30, 2013 Yeah, the paranoid murdering can detract from the experience a bit. I ran around in nothing but my underwear to see how people would respond to me. Out of around 20 or so people than I encountered, 18 murdered me without a word, one said something I couldn't quite make out and then murdered me, and one told me to go away in very colourful language. BlindProphet 34 Posted December 30, 2013 > Implying the people's behavior depends on an AlphaThat's like saying playing DayZ alpha will make you a dick IRL and the full release will make you a saintLet me know when your brain comes out of the Beta! ;) Let me know when yours comes out of pre-alpha. You don't seem to understand the whole concept, or the state the game is in. Survival. This does not mean just against the zombies and making sure you don't die of thirst or starvation. It also means surviving other people. Some people like to kill. Not all people in the world are trustworthy. Some people are nice. Others are loners. Others still are jerks. No real difference between the game and the realworld here other than the jerks can actually kill you. The state of the game? Its early alpha. Theres very little to do. We can collect food, guns, axes, a few other things. And the only other thing we have to do is interact with other people. When more things get added? There will be more things for people to do, which will keep them occupied. The game is also a sandbox. There are no rules. We make up our own fun. Some people find it fun to engage in pvp. Others don't. Some people enjoy hunting down bandits. Some enjoy helping others. Some enjoy the challenge of staying out of combat. Some people, just like in real life *GASP*, are just jerks. If you can not handle interacting with the internet (which based on your posts you can't), then this is not the game for you...because honestly...you are playing this on the internet...with other people...on the internet...who are not your friends. Personally I learned a long time ago there is only one rule in dayz...you are already dead the moment you spawn, it just takes a while for it to kick in sometimes. Theres difference between knowing that, and learning that is gigantic.
