Game not as colorful as other people?

Recommended Posts

Are you sure you don't have low blood?

Positive. I had them give me a Saline Bag shortly before taking this screenshot, not to mention the game always looks like this for me.

Did you change your gamma/brightness settings? High gamma will desaturate your colors.

Did you try disabling post-processing effects?

Gamma is on like 1/8 of the bar, brightness is around 1/4.

Well.. his game looks awfully saturated, someone has been wiggling sliders randomly in his graphic card control panel?

Have you changed settings to try and get a better FPS? watched any dodgy tutorials?

Gamma is 1/8? It should be 1/2.

It looks ridiculously saturated when I do that.

Did you try deleting System32?

Yes.

Negative, card settings are on default.

It might be a bug. I had the same thing, when I died and re-spawned I got better color.

Odd, will let you know next time I die.

Negative, been running a solid 50 FPS so I've left it be.

EDIT: Here's a picture of all of my options, hopefully this helps.

I just screwed around with my own graphical settings and I could only get a similar effect by cranking up gamma to really high values, judging by the fact that your gamma is set relatively low I still think that there might be something off in your graphics card gamma settings, but since you say you already checked that out I don't really know.

I assume that you don't have any such issues with other games though? Maybe you should try backing up and deleting your DayZ.cfg and dayz profile .cfg files so that the game will recreate them.

Your gamma is too low, simple as that. Gamma should be at 1/2, same as brightness.  If you put them low and your game is colourless, nothing I can do.  Your friend probably has Gamma and Brightness a lot higher, hence the colour difference.
