Just been GIVEN "end game" gear. Good Samaritans or spawned items?

Recommended Posts

Hi all. My name is Matt and my in game name is Clint Law.

About 45 minutes ago I spawned West of Balota so looted the tents first before heading into the airfield compound where the barracks are. I found nothing except a dead body with an M4A1 and a Mountain Backpack (Green). I head into the nearby prison/admin/tech building where firstly I went into the holding cell, then to the downstairs room. As soon as I entered the doorway of the room I was told by two voices to surrender, put my hands up, etc. I back out into the hallway. I initially thought I could fight them for the adrenaline rush then thought better of it.

I retreat to the corner of the hallway, facing the main doors. I was watching the main doors which were closed (I can't remember closing them but I sometimes do if I am thinking straight). The two guys appeared from the lower room. Now I thought that was odd because I just went in there and I did not see them, but I did stop in the doorway so they might've been around the corner in the room.

They are walking towards me but I have made a right mess of the surrender! I pressed F2 but nothing happened, so I tried F1 and F3, nothing... My guy put's his M4 away, puts his hands up, then gets the M4 back out to wave (haha), THEN gets his M4 out again before sitting down. I panicked and thought I was a dead man as soon as I pulled the M4 out the first time, but they haven't shot, so I surrender properly and put that instance down to lag or desynch. One guy is watching from the bottom of the stairs and the other guy handcuffs me.

The guy that cuffed me then starts by taking my M4 from me, only to give me his M4. I thought he was just re-arranging his inventory and using me to do it. He takes my Mountain Backpack and gives me his Military Backpack (Hunter's Pack I believe). I said to them that I prefer this backpack, just to taunt them a bit. Then he starts dressing me! I'm just thinking WTF. I ask them why they are giving me this stuff and the guarding guy says I'll need it to survive.

Here is a little list off the top of my head of what I was given:

M4A1 with Suppressor, Red Dot Sights, Bipod, a Handguard and Butt Stock which are not the standard ones.

6x Double Mags full with ammo.

2x Ammo Crates with Mags and Bullets inside.

Medical Box

A Storage Crate (the yellow one) with food etc inside.

2x Army Canteens

Camo Trousers (pants)

Camo Jacket

Boots

Gasmask

Helmet

Other rare items such as can opener, etc.

The first thing I thought was they spawned these items and they obviously don't care about getting rid of them if they can spawn them in again straight after... But then I noticed that a lot of the stuff was "ruined" or "worn" or "damaged", which didn't make sense as surely if they were spawning items they would be Pristine? (Unless when the items spawns it has a chance to be in any condition?)

Now I asked them if they were making a video, but they didn't answer me. It's strange enough that I wasn't shot in the face as soon as they saw me, but to give me all that stuff and then tell me to re-log? Strange indeed.

Is it possible to spawn gear as a hack? Is it safe to use "spawned" items without fear of being punished or banned myself?

What do you guys think?

It's not that uncommon to have friendly groups or people out there who provide others with gear. At least from my experience and moving with such groups. Often due to the manpower they eventually end up with more than enough supplies.

"M4A1 with Suppressor, Red Dot Sights, Bipod, a Handguard and Butt Stock which are not the standard ones."

There are a few Stocks for the M4A1, some are rare at the north west tents. A Red Dot Sight i've had before. There are 3 or something Handguards and Bipods are in but are of no use at all, same with suppressor.

The camo stuff is rare i think, i found a camo cap and didn't think anything of it, the rest of the stuff are in the game so i don't know what you're getting paranoid about...

/closethread, nothing is even put in yet except for stuff that you can actually get...

Cheers guys. I was paranoid about having all that stuff if it could be "traced" back to a hack of some sort.

I'll put it down to just friendly and helpful people. Just thought I'd share the strangest experience I've had so far! :)

Sounds like you got the ultimate hookup from an extremely friendly player.  Very rare occurrence indeed.  Enjoy!

This has made up for randomly falling into unconsciousness and dying with that Mosin I had with a Long Range Scope! I'm wondering now whether I'll be on Youtube as just another charity case these guys helped out. Now I can concentrate on survival of the elements rather than getting away from the coast :).

There is a way to dupe your gear with the exact same conditions of the items and they could have done this (im not telling you how to do it) OR he was generally being nice to you and figured they could easily gear up within an hour so it would be no loss for him.

Done a similar thing, less items but they were still good for fresh spawn. Guess what happened, he shot me as soon as he picked up the M4.
