Dchil 829 Posted December 29, 2013 (edited) Hey guys, In rocket's post about the latest update for SA he mentioned a 357 Magnum and ammo were making an appearance but the revolver was cut due to problems but the ammo stayed. Does anyone have a Pic of the 357? or what make and model it is supposed to be? And a vid or gif of the reload? Or know where to find one? Thanks in advance. And a little eye candy for you guys courtesy of the legend known as Hickok45, of him playing with a beautiful Smith and Wesson M19. Edited to fix embedding. Dchil 829 Posted December 29, 2013 This I think i just creamed myself.....Though I don't think a stainless Colt Python w/wood grips and a 4 inch barrel would be that common in a former communist state in the middle of eastern Europe.

Dchil 829 Posted December 29, 2013 (edited) Shhhhhhh...lets not worry about that shall we.Once I download the game then I shall need to find a holster, the firearm in question, some aviators and/or cowboy hat. Then i will not worry about how legit it may or may not be. EDIT when it is in the game that is. Edited December 29, 2013 by Dchil

deus_drone 98 Posted December 29, 2013 FYI the .357 Magnum spawn is not in the loot table yet. Rocket said over Twitter he will be fixing this

Dchil 829 Posted December 29, 2013 (edited) Fires .380, .357, and .357 Magnum roundsIIRC the 380 is too damn big in case width for it to work effectively in a multi-cal revolver. I would only expect this to fire 357 or 38 special rounds (if 38 is implemented). That and 380 is rimless, meaning that even if it fit, it would just drop right down the cylinder, therefore unusable as the firing pin won't hit it. The most effective multi-caliber revolvers are either in 45 (and fire [in rare cases] everything fron 3inch 410 shot shells to 45acp {with moon clips} to 454 casull.) or have cylinders you can swap out. Also available in snub schnozz configuration.Snub noses are usually defined as a revolver with a barrel under (and including) 3 inches. The typical service revolver had a 4 inch barrel for ease of draw after the black powder era, with barrels of 6 inches and longer being more focused towards the shooting sports where accuracy is more important than draw speed. Still won't stop me from using a S&W M29 (Dirty harry's 44 magnum) with a 6 inch barrel, if i can get my hands on one before or during a zombie outbreak, as my main handgun. A high cap 9mm backing it up (Browning High Power anyone?) with a silencer along with a rifle or shotty as well. Edited December 29, 2013 by Dchil

"hay you hear that buddy youre considered a snub nose" id prefer a .454 casull raging bull accompanied with a KS-23 riot shotgun .. its a 4 ga . to compensate for my snub nose .know thats a round you could paint with !!! Possible attachments for the 357 should be. Alternate gripsRed Dot SightScope (4x magnification max)Alternate (target?) sights Possible Magazines Individual roundsspeed strips ( like this http://www.midwayusa.com/product/243389/bianchi-580-speed-strips-38-special-and-357-magnum-package-of-2-plastic-black)Speed loaders What should not be available. AT. ALL. Interchangeable barrels (a f*ck load of work is put into changing barrels with all types of specialist tools unless the revolver was made for it)Interchangeable cylinders (it isn't a remington 1858 [and they don't always work like that] or a ruger blackhawk/vaquero [a single action with interchangeable 9mm or 45acp cylinders depending on type])Caliber conversions (Again, a shitton of machining to make rounds like 9mm work in an originally 357 mag revolver properly) Edited December 29, 2013 by Dchil
Draco122 412 Posted December 29, 2013 Caliber conversions (Again, a shitton of machining to make rounds like 9mm work in an originally 357 mag revolver properly) Not quite, the only rounds I believe that the .357 Magnum can fire is .38 Special. They are technically interchangable with each other and could offer different benefits, such as .38 being common but less powerful and if weapon repairing is added it could add less wear to a firearm

You are right about a standard 357 revolver also being able to use 38 special.
pred@tor 26 Posted December 31, 2013 I have a Colt Python in real life so I wanna find it too. A little disappointed to see it wasn't even put into loot table. :(

Dchil 829 Posted December 31, 2013 The DHS Medical Division is very excited about the .357. We look forward to reporting the results from our ballistics tests on our test subjects.I know you guys said to try and find you for some meds, in a different thread, if needed but this sh*t just makes me want to stay away. I'm genre savvy enough and have played the mod enough to know that this is a seriously bad sign. BTW do nut shots do anything different compared to say a stomach shot? any weapon at all. You seem like you would have tested that.

Propulsion_Joe 97 Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) If you look back at my posting history. You will see that the group I am part of leads people behind a house or into a shack by a water pump to murder them. We do it under false promises of food, medicine, and general gear :). As for our weapons tests. The difference between a shot to the nuts vs a shot to the chest is lower body shots will damage the pants and anything above the belt will damage the jacket. *EDIT* This post is directed at Dchill. beardedcap 22 Posted December 31, 2013 Fires .380, .357, and .357 Magnum roundsWhat? Are you retarded? .38 spc and .357 magnum. .357 isn't a cartridge, also .380 isn't rimmed, and it's a different diameter
