Where is everyone? NW Airfield not a hotspot anymore?

So after playing the DayZ SA for 30 hours, I've encountered around 10 other except me and my friend players (killed everyone of them, didn't die yet lol) I'm wondering where everyone is nowadays. I've been running around the NW Airfield, saw 1 guy there, 3 at Vybor and the rest randomly in random towns. 

 

I've checked every decent lootspot on the map (was playing on 2 different servers only) and i just can't find anyone besides that. From what I've seen so far NW Airfield is not as popular anymore due to the fact that there are more barracks.

 

What is your experience so far if you encountered other players, where was that?

If you want to meet people on NWAF, then stay inside one of the barracks or military building and you will meet server hoppers.

Most are hanging out at the big three on the coast. Bambi's apparently are the greater threat.

But anyway there aren't any vehicles so its harder for people to get to the NW airfield. The coast or near it has a lot of military loot spawns now. There are more new military bases too. And people server hop. Its sort of spread people out a tad.

Why go all the way to northwest airfield when server hopping balota results in better loot in a 10th of the time.

 

Problem is there is no loot tiers right now, so there's no reason to be there.

After being fed up with the cherno->new cherno->balota round, we decided to move up north and to our surprise 1 hour after server restart the military loot at vybor was still there and we ended up having some nice pvp with a couple other guys. no hoppers or combat loggers. pretty good experience.

Thats why the game needs some sort of global chat

I remember people doing that in the beginning of dayzmod, but i wonder why people do that, because being fully geared is quite boring, the way to get there is the actual fun imo

I've seen people server hopping at the balota military base (north of balota) it seems people are just jacking each other off at chernogorsk and balota

The last thing this game needs is GLOBAL CHAT.. There is literally no reason to use global chat, ever.

 

Here's what people say in Global Chat:

 

-Typical shit talk. "LOL NUB GOT OWNED"

 

-"Anyone in Cherno/Elektro/Balota/etc"

 

-"Can anyone give me a ride?"

 

-"Hey bandit, are you friendly?"

 

All of this can either be removed, or replaced with direct chat.

I would've liked talking to the guys we had PvP with today. Would've congratulated them on the nice kills and thanked them for not being pussies. They died like men! :D

I wouldn't mind global chat IF you could hide it.

Actually there is, theres more stuff up there, less people go there, less server hoppers - more loot.

If you want to find people go to balota, always some there even on low pops.

New to dayz, but NWAF is the place to loot for me. Ive died 2 times since launch and every time I spawn I head there going through the 2 military camps on the way. Ive only seen 3 players there, 2 server hopper buddies and 1 axe murder(first death thanks to him, I had no idea he can 1 shot me with an axe, the more you learn eh? xD)

Most of Chernarus..currently, is highly underutilized.

 

Here are the reasons for that.

 

Servers have a 40 player limit

 

Theres no need to do anything but work between Zelengorosk and Chernogorosk with a 40 player limit...that area alone has everything a player needs...including other players to shoot at/be shot at by.

 

Until the stand alone's real survival options get implemented, this will likely to continue to be the case and the simple facts are is...most people don't want to walk 7 kilometers just to get to the same stuff they can get less than one kilometer away.

 

Literally I'd say probably at least 9 of 10 people you see at the NWAF...like...ever, are server hoppers and thats it, cause theres almost no reason to walk that far north, everything you could find there you can find anywhere in the 7 kilometers to the south of it down to the coast.

I personally have found amazing loot at the NW Airfield, and I don't really mind taking the exodus up there after hitting up Zelengorosk. I have a feeling when they add vehicles that will be a goldmine due to its size. Most of my player encounters have been in and around Balota, Cherno and the two marked military bases on the western part of the map.

Balota has at least 20 military tents and buildings. There is a military base just north of Kamenka. So there is little reason to hike all the way to NWAF right now.

Imho this is a good sign, cause it probably means they made tge rest of the map considerably more interesting.
