Zombie powerup (Dead players etc)

Recommended Posts

Hey.

I was thinking of ways to make zombies more interesting, and i was thinking we could allow zombies to scale in power..

My main thought is allow zombies to be attracted to dead players, and if left eating the body they would increase in speed or strength.

This way a dead body could be swarmed with strong zombies, and going for the loot becomes a choice. dare i do it or should i play it safe

Thoughts?

That actually sounds like a good idea, might fit in with the 'life cycle' thing Rocket was talking about a while ago.  Hungry zombies would be easier to kill but might agro easier (being hungry they'll be 'on the hunt' so to speak).  A 'well fed' zombie would be harder to kill but would be more 'relaxed' (won't actively seek out players/prey but would still attack players they see).

This could have 'bad' connotations too, IE shooting someone in a city to lure zombies away from a location with their body.  But such is DayZ, people will kill with or without a reason.

I agree that it could lead to some innocents dying as decoys, but as you also mentioned, such is Dayz, And better killed for lure than for no reason at all :)

Well realistically, zombies shouldn't all be the same strength and speed anyway, just like humans aren't. Bigger stronger people should make bigger stronger zombies. And a well fed zombie is a happy, stronger, faster zombie.

This is what i was thinking.. I remember reading something about the zombies in days, not being traditional zombies (often defying reality) but simply infected humans, which would lead them to need sustenance

One thing I would like to know is where are the fat zombies in dayz ? Not every human in Cherno was thin or medium weight , there must have been some fatties laying about .
