TO EVERYONE STUCK IN DEBUG AREA DUE TO UPDATE

Recommended Posts

I had the exact same issue. I spawned in debug area, was invisible, would return to debug areas no matter what I did - even respawns. Thankfully, someone on /vg/ gave me useful infographics. They're too large to post on the forums but I have replicated them in text to assist other players. Once I did the following my game worked flawlessly.

First of all, Six Launcher is a piece of trash. God bless its intentions and the effort its creators put in, but the program screws things up more than it helps.

If you're feeling impatient, try starting at Step 12. Most issues are due to installing the beta incorrectly. However, I recommend doing a full reinstall even though it takes forever.

Step 1: Go to your main Operation Arrowhead folder. This will differ based on your machine. I use Steam so I am not sure where this would be located for your machine if you downloaded the game otherwise. You should check your C:\Program Files or check My Documents for anything related to the game, such as Arma 2, Operation Arrowhead, or Bohemia. If you use Steam, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead. You might not have the (x86) if you don't use Windows 7, which I do.

Step 2: Delete your DayZ folder within your main OA folder. For me, this was "@DayZ".

Step 3: Click the "Expansion" folder and, if you see the "beta" folder within it, delete that.

Step 4: Uninstall Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead.

Step 5: Reboot your computer.

Step 6: Reinstall Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead.

Step 7: Reinstall DayZ MANUALLY. Go to http://dayzmod.com/ and click DOWNLOAD DAYZ. Click one of the manual download mirrors on the bottom, preferably the one located closest to you to get the fastest download. You will get some nonsense page but at the bottom it will give you a link to download the files manually. Do so.

Step 8: Once you have downloaded all the files, create a folder within your main Operation Arrowhead folder called "@DayZ".

Step 9: Remember that when I put quotation marks in this, it means an example and you should put actually put quotation marks in.

Step 10: Within that "@DayZ" folder, create another one called "Addons". Put all your DayZ files into this folder.

Step 11: Go to Steam, right click OA, click properties, then Set Launch Options and add: "-nosplash -mod=@dayz". You can also find the OA .exe you normally use and add same line by right clicking and setting properties or somesuch. I do not believe you really need to add this line in. I forgot to in my re-installation but everything worked fine. I just add it in for propriety.

Step 12: Go to http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php and download the latest beta patch on the top of the page highlighted in green.

Step 13: Run the .exe within the .rar; remember to run it as adminstrator!

Step 14: Go to your main OA folder, then the Expansion folder, then the beta folder.

Step 15: Copy the arma2oa.exe within the beta folder.

Step 16: Go to your OA main folder and RENAME the arma2oa.exe that is currently there to something else, like "arma2oa2.exe" or whatever.

Step 17: Paste the .exe from the \beta folder to the main folder.

Step 18: This part is important. Go to your Steam, click properties for Operation Arrowhead (or otherwise put this command line in properties) and then click Set Launch Options. Enter the following: "-beta=Expansion\beta;ca;Expansion\beta\Expansion -mod=DayZ;ca -nosplash"

Step 19: LAUNCH THE GAME AS COMBINED OPERATIONS. DO NOT LAUNCH IT AS OPERATION ARROWHEAD, IT WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY.

That's what I did and my game worked. Whenever there is an update, add in the files manually. If there is another beta patch, repeat Step 14 and onward so you put the new .exe into your main file. If you use Steam, you do not have to re-do the command line because it will save.

God speed.

The Guide works but there are some errors which need to be corrected

Step 9: Remember that when I put quotation marks in this' date=' it means an example and you should put actually put quotation marks in.

Step 10: Within that "@DayZ" folder, create another one called "Addons". Put all your DayZ files into this folder.

Step 18: [b']This part is important. Go to your Steam, click properties for Operation Arrowhead (or otherwise put this command line in properties) and then click Set Launch Options. Enter the following: "-beta=Expansion\beta;ca;Expansion\beta\Expansion -mod=DayZ;ca -nosplash"

Step 9: I think you mean "shouldn't" put quotation marks in

Step 10: You need to EXTRACT them there, i first just copied the rar files, thinking the game maybe extract them by itself

Step 18: This is just messed up

you need to put in:

"-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -mod=DayZ -nosplash"

without the ";ca"

but thanks for the guide, works pretty well

First of all, Six Launcher is a piece of trash. God bless its intentions and the effort its creators put in, but the program screws things up more than it helps.
So instead of reporting issues on the bug tracker for this well supported piece of software, you call it a piece of trash and spend a lot of time on a guide etc..

Would you be so kind to report the issues to the issue tracker? Then we can solve them and we won't have need for this name calling and manual hassle; http://www.six-updater.net/p/support.html
