If you got to ask then yeah don't ask.

In short they are not using the arma 2 engine rather a completely bare bones copy of it re-writen to make a completely new engine.

They already had arma 3 engine. why use the arma 2 engine?

This is not arma 3 und arma2 engine this is better was the TakeonHelicopters engine but after alot of work the FPS engine is now a MMO Engine. ;)
