Your creepiest expirience in Standalone so far

Recommended Posts

Was scared shitless when I tried to loot building at night near Guba. Clouds enabled, it was dark. Kind of lost, thought I was close to Olsha and needed water badly but then I found rails and was running quite some time along them because I was afraid to end up lost.

After a while I saw silhouettes of buildings before me. I managed to get inside the house by blindly walking across the walls until icon of a door appeared. Cola, water bottle, anything goes. So I was slowly walking back and forth opening my inventory here and there... And then I heard someone running outside. Then I heard footsteps inside the house, someone opened door and gone. That was creepy as hell.

Second time it was damn rabbit! At night again. That beast was running around me and moaning like zombie in a heat. I was trying to bolt but it was dark so I ended up running around in circles for about 2 minutes. Cursed creature!

Laying down in the middle of the forest at night. Decided I wanted to mess with my sound settings since I had not done it ever. Go to turn up the master volume and hear a gun shot followed by the zombie sound. I go great quit out of the menus and start listening very hard for any sounds, don't hear anything after 5 minutes so go back into settings and adjust the effects volume only to have the same thing happen again and then I started laughing after I realized why I heard the sound.

Another one I was laying on the floor of a house eating a can of beans, hear the zombie sound outside and think great another player is nearby and then this half of a zombie starts coming torwards me through the wall with half its body below the floor.

Me and my mate were running though some fields after escaping from some bandits trying to hold us up. As we were long gone from them, all on our own, my friend notices something behind us. Didn't bother us much until it came closer. It was a guy with the creepy Dallas Mask (Clown Mask) chasing us with a hatchet. We legged it. Sprinted as fast as we could. He started to communicate. "You won't escape me, But you can try" he whispered with a deep and croaky voice. We eventually lost him (well thats what we thought) through trees and we were coming up onto a open field. We were sure we lost him until we were half way across the field when we saw a suspicious zombie running. It was way to far away to be coming after us. We both turned around, zoomed in onto the zombie, and wondered what it was. But as soon as my friend turned around the clown was there looking straight at him and said "Told ya" and killed him with one clean swipe to the head with a hatchet. I didn't even bother to look at where he was, I just got up and ran. Didn't grab no shoes or nothin Jesus, I ran for my life. But before I could even get 20 meters, he had caught up and killed me.

A few hours after release, I found myself scrambling through the apartments north of balota. The darkness swallowed me, so I used a flashlight to look around, Had a backpack, m4,  food, drink, medkit etc. All of a sudden I hear the soft pitter patter of footsteps nearby, very nearby, turn around just in time to see a masked player crouch running towards me with a shovel in his hand, and a very evil look in his eye. Instinct told me to run, I already knew that trying to get out my gun would take far too long, so I booked it past him, but he got me on the way past and I began to bleed. I make it outside and start trying to get away, but bleeding and being brightly lit made me pretty easy to follow and finish off. I gained enough ground to switch to my primary, turned around and sprayed just as the last blow connected with my face and I fell unconscious. There I stayed for quite a while, I left my comp to go get a snack or somethin, came back maybe 20 minutes later, still knocked out, but I hear voices, only bits and pieces of conversation. Somebody asking if I was one of their guys, he sounded frantic. Then a new voice. "Hang....man...try.. bandage..." about 15 seconds later, I was dead. It was fantastic, and I don't think I'll ever forget it. Many games can induce anger, but it's very rare to find a game like DayZ which allows forces your emotions to run the gamut. It's great.

Was searching under a bed for food during nighttime. Heard footsteps tried to turn around but at that point it was too late. As I stood up a player ambushed me and stabbed me about 4-5 times during the animation with a screwdriver or something while shouting over his mic. I had my volume up pretty loud so I jumped out of my skin. I somehow managed to blindly charge out of the building. My character was bleeding pretty badly so I had to stop in some bushes. Unfortunately for me I had foolishly left my flashlight on. He spotted me quite easily and dealt a final blow to the head. My heat-rate was through the roof by the end of this.
