Multiple Characters

Forgive me if this has already been brought up, but I was unable to find a similar thread.

 

Why are we not able to have multiple characters we can play with? I occasionally play with my girlfriend, and we log in together and we log out together. Now, I'd like to be able to play on a different character while I'm not playing with her, so that we will not have to spend half an hour meeting up the next time we are able to play together. 

 

I'm sure some of you have similar thoughts/Problems.

How much storage could it possibly take up? Honestly, I see no reason for this not to be realized. 

 

It would serve well as an addition to the "Character" menu that we already have.

You'll never be able to have 2 characters on the public hive. That is, unless you create a second steam account and buy the game again.

 

When private servers come out you'll be able to have as many as you like but they will be tied to that particular server.

Dude.you payed already 30$ For an ALPHA.

Dean was mentioning the price and he sayed that dayz SA full release wont be higher that 30$.

BI shure pulled out a lot of cash this year.

Too much of an exploit. For example: You could gear up 2 dudes and have them both at the NWAF. Some random shoots you. You spawn back in with dude #2 and shoot him.

Currently, the DayZ Mod allows for servers running either public or private hives. In SA, however, (supposedly) every server is public, meaning same character throughout the game; this is intended. Despite this, word of some instances of multiple characters have come about, such as this thread. I can't vouch that it is currently possible, but should a Private Hive server be discovered, I'd certainly forward the info.
