If your microphone isn't working in-game...

If you microphone isn't working in game, you need to get that fixed asap.

The default key-binding to talk is Caps-Lock, double tap to toggle.

 

Make sure your microphone is set as the default communication device:

 

1.) Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound(Manage Audio Devices) > Recording.

2.) Right click your microphone, and click "Set as default communication device".

3.) Restart the game if it's open, and your microphone should be working.

 

This is to ensure that the maximum amount of people in-game have working microphones,

as they are a huge advantage and a must-have.

 

If you have any other fixes / solutions, reply and I'll add them to the post.

when i started on the mod i had the default device problem, the sounds card had its own program controlling sound, and it was registered as a device. So i could use skype and teamspeak, but not speak in game.  I did the above steps and it fixed it for me and 1 or 2 other people. 
So definitely worth checking if you think you can't be heard in game

I guess you can if you are into that sorta thing. Just make sure to get one that fits.

Dayz Standalone doesn't have side chat, so if you hear someone spamming, they're near you and you can just shoot them. Or, you can hit P, click their name and click Mute.
