blondie 6 Posted December 23, 2013 If you microphone isn't working in game, you need to get that fixed asap. The default key-binding to talk is Caps-Lock, double tap to toggle. Make sure your microphone is set as the default communication device: 1.) Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound(Manage Audio Devices) > Recording.2.) Right click your microphone, and click "Set as default communication device".3.) Restart the game if it's open, and your microphone should be working. This is to ensure that the maximum amount of people in-game have working microphones,as they are a huge advantage and a must-have. If you have any other fixes / solutions, reply and I'll add them to the post. Hope this helps, -Ryan
CrunchyBacon 29 Posted December 23, 2013 (edited) Can I set up my mic so people hear me fart in game? Edited December 23, 2013 by CrunchyBacon
monolith1985 109 Posted December 23, 2013 when i started on the mod i had the default device problem, the sounds card had its own program controlling sound, and it was registered as a device. So i could use skype and teamspeak, but not speak in game. I did the above steps and it fixed it for me and 1 or 2 other people. So definitely worth checking if you think you can't be heard in game

s1ipperyjim 0 Posted December 23, 2013 Cool. Now we just need a tutorial on how to not spam the entire server with annoying chatter and background noises
blondie 6 Posted December 24, 2013 Dayz Standalone doesn't have side chat, so if you hear someone spamming, they're near you and you can just shoot them. Or, you can hit P, click their name and click Mute.
