How far can gunshots be heard from?

Not far enough IMHO. In arma the loudest rifles (snipers) had an audible range of 800 meters, I'd assume it's similar here. Although that might change with upcoming patches.

I'd say too short by far. A postapocalyptic world is basically a silent world. A gunshot would be heard a VERY long way unless the winds are high.

I dont know the actual distance but me and a buddy were in a medium size town and i couldnt hear him killing zombies on the otherside of the town.. Same with the sounds of people walking.. You almost have to be right on top of them to hear them running, unless they are full sprinting on concrete..

The only tim I have herd a gun shot is when I am being shot at, I have not heard any gun shots otherwise Maybe sounds are audible when in your direction?

So no more than 600m? Interesting I wonder if sound is stopped by objects and if in an open field the sound would travel further
