i found like 4 stanags, without ammo!

also when i picked up my pistol, it says it has 15/15 rounds. still, i cant fire a bullet. is there a safety button or something?...

Military bases man is the only place I have found it and it is very difficult to come by, try the one north of Kamenka its normally pretty quiet just be sure to scout it before heading in! Also try hitting space to raise you held weapon!

seems to me the absolute BEST spot to find ammo is the Balota tents, the ones behind the barracks. I went in there yesterday and left with over 400 5.56 rounds, and around 100 pistol rounds. All loaded into my trusty 300 round ammo boxes

I found some 5.56 rounds on the edge of a dock, only once though. I'm pretty sure it won't spawn there often though.

Military bases. Same place you found the M4. I find the ammo isn't all that rare, but that may just be me. I don't go to the places that will no doubt be looted either.
